Certainly a nice facility with very modern equipment. I could list a few more positives however I am compelled to share the down sides because I think this office could do a better job if more people would give them constructive feedback. I suspect that the majority of patients they see are not into the social thing so any poor experiences would most likely not be posted. Anyway here is my experience: 1. Professional Staff? Other than the doctor herself and a lab tech, my interaction was with the elaborately decked out adolescent staff members, pasted with makeup and extremely long flashy fingernails (I suspect someone's daughters). I felt I had entered the lobby of "Teen Magazine" or something like that. Definitely did not make me feel I was dealing with professional offices (or maybe I'm from the wrong generation. I don't know). 2. Get what you pay for? They did not provide the full service they are billing insurance for. I told the Dr. I had seen a retinal specialist in the past. Therefore did not give a full test for glaucoma or diabetic issues (I am diabetic), she said "I'll leave it to them do this". Didn't bother to ask if I was still seeing them and it didn't occur to me to question her at the time (had a senior moment). Once home I called the office to state my disappointment, wanted to have the full service due to me. Manager said she'd look into it. Almost a month now, no one has called me back. 3. Reasonable Delivery Date - Supposably about 14 day delivery for new glasses however mine took over 3 weeks to receive. No one called to alert me to the delay. So I called, was told they had to be remade due to breakage. OK, but still 3 weeks? The basic response was it was because of my health care provider stating THEY required them to use a lab that Durham Eye Care does not use. Well, nice if they would have told me this before I order my expensive glasses from them. At that price I would have ordered from another supplier had I know this. I needed something quick. 4. Did not give me a copy of my prescription. I emailed them stating I needed a copy and to please forward it to me. Going on 4 days not...crickets....no one calls back. 5. Voicemail - You get voice mail a lot with them. Can't understand why, they seem to be staffed well enough (including the kids). I don't bother leaving messages, too frustrating. Personal/General Observation - The medical industry has evolved in to point where patient care and service is secondary to healthcare management. I've experienced this with many family members in a number of health related offices. Here, this office has been non responsive AFTER the service. Call the health provider to inquire and report an issue, you struggling to communicate with service representative in the Philippines, Mexico, Nicaragua, etc. By its own nature a deterrent for the patient to pursue or petition a corrective action. Take the above four comments for what it is worth.
I dont like how they close early/late and/or open late/too soon. Otherwise, its all good except for my glasses. This is the first time they chipped my glasses.
Love this place. Stopped in to make an appointment (haven't had my eyes checked in my entire adult life), was able to get an appointment the same week. Was told 1.5 weeks to receive my glasses and they were in, in only 4 days! They worked with both my medical and eye insurance to get me the best price. They doctor was amazing, most soft spoken doctor I've ever met, very nice. She walked me through the entire exam and made sure i was comfortable the entire time. I have never had this great of an experience in any other doctors office! 5 stars. Would definitely recommend using them!
