Be extremely wary of this place. They gave me a wrong prescription (way too weak) and then when I went back to ask them about it, the girl attendant checked my eyes and told me "Well it seems like it's good enough". Like what? I don't want "good enough". A doctor didn't even see me the second time around despite waiting for 20 minutes. I went to a separate provider (Carolina Eye Care) and they gave me the correct prescription (which was very different than Family Vision's). I usually don't write reviews but Family Vision cost me time, money, and a good bit of frustration. Everyone was nice but the overall experience was awful.

The eye exam was the only thing that went right. Dr. Blaettler was great. A little hard to understand at times due to his accent. He was very thorough and professional. After the exam, they could not get my vision insurance correct. I had to explain it to several people before they could understand how to use it. Requires a simple phone call, per my insurance card. Even when paying I had to go over it again. Frustrating dealing with this when I had dilated eyes. Asked if a pair of frames could be ordered in a different color, I was told yes. The first visit to pick up my glasses found out they had the wrong color. It was not until the second visit that I found out the frame color was discontinued. The lenses came in twice without the proper coating. I settled on the wrong color frames since I did not want to make a third visit. New frames would require new lens, not wanting to go through all this again. I was so frustrated that I was about to walk out several times. This all took place over a 7 week period.

My first review that I wrote about sitting and waiting for 25 minutes to pick up glasses was very much true and upsetting. I do appreciate Warren giving me a call to apologize about the situation. So I did change my rating to a 4 star rating from a 1 star. Thanks again Warren for calling to apologize.

Love.. Family Vision . excellent service .. great staff of courteous professionals...After having a routine eye exam they found that I had a.. torn retina....They immediately informed me of it and referred me to a specialist..and I had emergency surgery the following morning...I could have lost my eyesight.. Thanks,to there promptness..My vision was restored...In fact,brought my 74 yr old sister up here today for her check up...just found out that she needs ...cataract surgery...
First time patient trying to schedule a visit with the place and the woman taking appointments was not very helpful. She kept asking for a vision card and I kept telling her that I do not have a separate vision coverage and that it is lumped together with my health insurance. I then proceed to offer more information to give so that maybe she would see my coverage with my insurance company and she refused by saying, Well no Im about to close down, Im fixing to go to lunch. I then proceeded to tell her Ill find another place and hung up. Im sure the docs are great there but unfortunately I wont be finding out for myself.
