I marked my calendar with the date and time the lady gave me 10 days ahead of my request via phone. My appointment was scheduled or 11:20, I arrived at 11 a.m. and was told at the desk that I did not have an appointment. I had called a couple of days before just to confirm and to make sure they were still in the same location. The receptionist mentioned that they may be able to work me in, but I wanted my appointment time. Sadly, I must look for another eye doctor. I am somewhat elderly and hate driving in heavy traffic. I was not angry at their mistake, but I do write a review usually, good or bad.
Ashley, this is Dr. Wells. I saw your review over the weekend and immediately asked the staff this morning what was the deal with taking two weeks. Turns out that you were here on Friday, January 3. My optician was out of town that day and Monday, January 6. That is why the front desk employee told you they would be ready Tuesday, January 7 when he returned to the office. The type of lens that you selected is one we stock and they should have been ready that day. Unfortunately, when the optician went to pull those lenses from inventory, he only had one and needed four. At this point someone should have called you to let you know it would be a few more days. They told you the lenses should be in on Friday, and they did. However, you came by right when we opened, ahead of the UPS delivery. They would have been made about mid-morning that day which would have been one week after you ordered them. I think that is still too long for a lens we stock. So looking at the situation it looks like we failed in a few areas. We shouldn't run out of lenses we keep in inventory, the front desk needs to tell the optical side when someone is told their glasses will be ready on a certain day, and failed to communicate to you on Tuesday before you came in that there would be a delay. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention so I can address these issues with the staff so this won't happen again in the future. I definitely understand your frustration and if you can give us another chance next year, your lenses will be on me. Thank you, Dr. Kevin W. Wells

If I could give this place a NO star review I would. Not one person that works there knows what they are doing... doesnt know how to make appointments, doesnt know how to verify insurance, doesnt know how much eye glasses cost. Extremely frustrating to deal with! After dropping off two Gucci frames to have lenses put in- I show up on the day the office staff told me to pick them up only to find out they havent put lenses in my frames because they ran out of lenses. No call, no communication to let me know. So they tell me they will be done in Friday.. show up Friday, still no glasses completed. The office runs so unorganized! I left my glasses there for 2 weeks, with no communication and no lenses out in the glasses. This morning I asked for my frames back an took them somewhere else... I understand being short staffed and or training new people... but communication is the key especially to customers that are already frustrated!
Overall it was a really great experience! The staff are friendly and helpful. It seems their technology is up to date as well compared to my last optometrist. Dr. Wells was efficient and made it a comfortable experience. My only complaint was I wasn't asked about my preference in what brand of contacts I was given. At the time I didn't really mind because I imagine he knows what brands are good so I bought the year supply. After wearing them for a few days, my eyes became more dry than normal and were irritating me so I have had to wear my glasses for a few days to give my eyes a break. Of course the contacts may be a great brand for others because I'm guilty of sleeping in mine, but my previous brand didn't irritate my eyes as much. All in all, great experience and great staff, I should have just asked more questions or asked for a trial period with my contacts before purchasing.
Simply stated, Dr Wells is the best, most through Optometrist I have had the pleasure of meeting. I have lived in multiple countries and can not speak more highly of Dr Wells and the professionalism of his entire staff. My previous Optometrist, who I last saw two weeks before visiting Dr Wells gave me a clean bill of health, however Dr Wells discovered through a through exam that I had glaucoma which he immediately treated and the results have been good. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Wells to anyone who has any eye concerns.
Sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience with our front staff. Like all businesses in our area we can not find enough help, we are currently working at 50% staff. They are working hard to keep up and sometimes get stressed out. I have spoken with the front staff to ensure that this doesn't happen again. Just wanted to update that the employee no longer works here.
