Wish I could give them negative stars, but you have to do at least 1. Worst service experience. Alarm randomly going off, false alarms sent to police dept. with no alert sent at the home. Calls waking me and my family up at 5:00 a.m. for a monitoring alert that no one could identify. The overall kicker told my agreement was 3 years because the company didn't do over that, and when I cancelled found out it was for 5 years. I'm done and over with this company. RUN anywhere, but here for home security!!!! You can start by honoring the 3 year agreement I was told originally, that was changed without my knowledge. Instead of trapping customers and ripping them off, when your is poor. Allow customers to end their service without penalty. Trapping in a contract isnt way to keep and maintain business.

The installer code on my Lyric was changed from the default, and initially they wouldn't release the code to me unless I signed back up for service and paid a $195 technician fee. To their credit, they did contact me after leaving a review here and disclosed the code so I can disable the annoying communicator message. I raised the review from 1 star to 3, but it would have been nice to not have to go this route to get resolution. I am happy the matter is resolved though. I had no major issues with their service. Cancellation required mailing in a paper form through the mail which is about 20 years behind the times.

I had a bad experience with Ackerman. However, I accepted them sending me a tech for the second time and I am so glad they did. Ike was the tech and he was amazing. He actually listened to what I had to say and resolved the issue. Ike made the difference for me. I have more peace of mind with the changes he helped me implement. However, just to be clear the salesman Ben is not someone I would do business with again. Once he gets your money he is out. He says call the office.

I spoke with Dee in the loyalty department, she was amazing and has awesome customer service skills and knowledge. I started the conversation very very upset about my service and monthly bill. My intention was to cancel my service. I have not been happy with my service. I spoke with Ms. Dee on today and she took care of all my concerns and she was able to lower my monthly payment. I am very grateful to Ms. Dee for her commitment to serving my issues and making things right by me. This morning our alarm triggered at 3:20am. It obviously woke my wife and I from a deep slumber in a panic. I ran through the house to see what had happened and there was no sign of a break-in or reason for the alarm to go off. I called Ackerman to get their help and was sure it would be moments before I was speaking to someone about our problem. Unfortunately I was completely wrong. No one ever answered the phone- at a SECURITY COMPANY. The company I was relying on to protect my home never answered the phone. I know now they blame a widespread Verizon outage. But- even after repeated phone calls today and promised automatic call backs - I still haven't been able to speak with a person about the incident- and further they are completely unsympathetic about the panic and lack of customer service we received in what was a very unsettling situation. I will be canceling my service and taking my business elsewhere. When it comes to the security of my home and my family- I expect my security company to answer the phone after the first ring.
