If you're a home owner looking for anything other than paint, you should go somewhere else. I had a wonderful experience working with the paint department, so when a piece of exterior window trim broken on my home. I went into Alexander Lumber and spoke with Ron. He says he can order a new peice for me and would take about 3 weeks to arrive. I wait about a month and call back because I hadn't heard anything. Turns out he did not place the order, because he didn't have time, but would order ASAP. Another month still no trim. I call Alexander lumber and get sent to Ron's voice-mail, and leave several voice-mails over a couple weeks span, but he never returns my calls. Finally after 3 months my window trim is ready for pickup. But guess what it's the wrong size and is not large enough for my window. I call Ron and we determined i gave him the right measurement for my window and he ordered the right one, but the supplier must have sent the wrong one. Ron says he will order another one... A month later, I start calling for Ron, but again and again he's not available, and I leave voice messages, but get no response. Finally I get him on the phone, and he says, "yeah, that's taking a long time," and he says he will check on it and call me back... A few days later, I still haven't heard from Ron. I called three times before getting ahold of him. He says he'll "look into it." I ask, what's the holdup, is the supplier not getting back to you? He says, "To be honest, I haven't placed the order yet because I haven't had time." It has now been 5 months and no trim.
Kara I appreciate the honest review. Please know we are working on being better communicators. There's no excuse for bad communication. I will continue to work with my sales staff on this. I hope future phone calls and emails are answered in a timely fashion. Thanks again.

It is too bad that the response times and dedication to supplying timely follow ups to keep projects moving are not a priority. Weve tried for two years to work on several projects with Sales and never get a phone call or email back with answers or simply a check in to keep things going. Its a constant reminder for the customer to call or email in return to never get a return call back or email. Its apparent this company is selective in who they want to do business with. Not what I would have expected.

Received fantastic advice and help for painting our kitchen cabinets from Jim! Having gotten little to no help from other paint suppliers in comparison, we will no doubt be back here for our next paint project.
Good morning Tom. I see you had a frustrating experience with us recently. I had to do some homework to even find this transaction and once I found it I realized the sale happened in 2009. I believe you had called into the store looking for warranty info regarding your Andersen windows this past summer. In your situation unfortunately the warranty period of ten years had expired on your parts. Glass warranty is still 20 years though. If you still need help feel free to contact me personally. I purchased Anderson Windows from Alexander Lumber when I built a new home. One of the workers who delivered the windows to the job site was a hot head and almost caused a fist fight with the general contractor because the Alexander Lumber delivery person was in a hurry and wanted to unload the windows immediately and did not care that general contractor was working with subcontractors and couldnt immediately unload the windows. Alexander Lumber delivery guy was very unreasonable, angry, and used profanity. Later, when the home was built, the windows needed warranty work. Alexander Lumber management acted as if taking care of the warranty work was a real inconvenience for them. They seemed happy when I purchased thousands of dollars worth of windows from them, as would any company. But, their follow through tells the truth about how much Alexander Lumber truly values their customers.
