I had a printing job I needed done within a day or two. I called Abracadabra on the recommendation of a designer friend. When I first called, the quote I got was low, the service was good, and the turn around was quick. They said they'd have a proof ready to go when we got there. I sent my fiance to pick them up. When he arrived, the people at the front desk had no proof, couldn't find the files I emailed, and argued about the pricing we were quoted an hour earlier. They also wanted to charge us a $20 design fee to print four of our invitations on a page (the file was of only one invitation). So my fiance left empty handed. I called again, talked to the same person who was able to find my files no problem, reassured me the quote was accurate, and told me we could try again the next day. They explained the design fee--*any* graphic work is subject to $75/hour design fee, broken into 15 minute increments--the smallest being $20/15 mins. I was willing to accept that and move on because the quote was still cheaper than other print shops. When I called the next morning, I told them I needed them by 2pm. They told me they now couldn't get the prints done until 4pm at the earliest, and introduced a 20% rush fee. With such a small job (40 pages) that they were able to accommodate within an hour the day before, I was surprised. The experience went from bad to worse. I didn't end up using them to print because the experience was so frustrating. The miscommunications between their staff, the late-introduced rush fee, the $20 design fee for what should be normal set-up work, and the delay. I don't plan to try them again.
Robyn Foster helped me with a small, personal project and I was delighted with the customer service and final product. Abracadabra Printing, Inc. turned my idea into a work of art, including help with setting up my document correctly (a uniquely sized, bound book), selecting the right paper, and incorporating custom media. Robyn was proactive communicating any time there was a question and went above and beyond to make sure we had covered all our bases. I highly recommend Abracadabra for their customer service and breadth of project experience and products.
I work for a busy union and the team at Abracadabra work magic. We have had a back to back months of pickets and most recently a strike. They were able to produce for us very nice t-shirts and picket signs in a very tight schedule. Their communication is very responsive and accomodating w/ materials to fit your needs and design. We also work w/ them on bulk mailing and general printing when things are not as chaotic in the union and they do a very good job w/ that as well. I highly recommend Abracadabra Printing.
