Called my vision insurance provider first to get recommendations for an in-network provider in my area. From the options given, I decided to go to Optical Image at Park Place Mall. An eager and friendly sales person greeted us. I asked if she had appointments for an eye exam that same day and she said yes. After we were booked, I asked her to see frames that were within the covered amount by our insurance. From this point, her attitude changed. She pointed towards a small show case containing a few (~6) frames (for children) that start at $180. I scanned around the store and noticed most frames are priced between $600 - $2000. I told her I would just do the eye exam for now and we left. When we returned two hours later for our appointment, she tells us she had accidentally overbooked us, and the doctor would not be in for another hour. What she didnt know I had overheard a conversation between her and a walk-in in which that person was given an eye exam appointment for the same time I was already booked for. The walk-in had already selected a frame on a wall that had frames averaging $1500- hmm. I made sure to tell her I was very disappointed and that she could have called the number I provided her when I booked my appointment, if in fact what she was telling me was true. I told her I would not wait or come back to the store. If you have the money to spend $600 $2000, by all means go to Optical Image. If you are on a budget or agree with me that eye glasses arent worth that much, or sales people shouldnt be dishonest, then go somewhere else.
I purchased two pairs of glasses the customer service was phenomenal. My sales associate went above and beyond to make sure I had exactly what I wanted, I highly recommend optical image.
After searching for days to find glasses for my son who lost his only pair of glasses, we discovered optical image at the park place mall. Just even picking out glasses form my son is typically a painful experience but Ruth helped us out in a jiffy! Not only did we find the perfect pair (stylish yet retro old man frames) but they were ready in 1 hour! This will defiantly be our new optician, lense and frame office! Thank you!!
