Hi Nicole, we are truly sorry for the bad experience you had at Southwood this weekend. We are aware of the insect issue you observed in the house plant section. Our spray policy is to exercise caution and avoid the use of pesticides as much as possible, but today we have closed off the entire area until our spray technicians have eliminated the problem and it is safe to re-enter. As many businesses in todays environment are, we are experiencing some staffing difficulties this fall. While we strive to continually improve the level of service we offer to our guests, we recognize that we do fall short in those endeavors at times. We hope to one day earn your trust back so we can be your go-to nursery once again. In the meantime, happy gardening and best of luck to you.

This used to be my go to nursery, but lately the quality and customer service has failed me. They were having a huge 50% off sale this weekend. I asked an employee which grasses were marked down and she said, "Idk some of them are some aren't. Guess I'm not much help, sorry." Not helpful at all. I've also noticed mealybugs on their indoor plants for weeks. I told an employee, but they didn't seem to care. It's now turned into an infestation and I left this weekend without any indoor plants because I couldn't find one without signs of mealybugs. Their indoor section is now infested, especially the succulents. The plants I've purchased from them a couple of weeks ago are now infested as well. I asked a lady at the "solutions" desk for help since Neem isn't working. She told me to use something with Spinosad, which after researching, won't work. Giving me incorrect info on an issue that started at the nursery is the last straw for me. I wouldn't buy your house plants here unless you want an infestation.

I bought a $30 Orchid, which I was assured was healthy, despite an odd spot on one of the leaves. It soon died from the core, outward. When I brought it in, I was informed there are no returns for house plants or tropicals, and told that I must have over watetered it -even though I have a window full of fine orchids at home.
Was worth the extra drive time to be able to visit Southwood. I bought 3 very happy and healthy plants. The associates were super friendly and knowledgeable about the care required for each when I had some questions. I'm hoping we can stop by again someday.
Was driving through the area and decided to stop in. My boyfriend was looking for some bromeliads but unfortunately this place didn't have any. They had a nice variety of other plants but a lot of them looked cooked. I found their table with some of the rare plants and they looked like they've been forgotten about. The leaves were crispy and the soil was very dry. Employees were friendly and they had a nice selection of pots and gifts.
