Smart move property management finds every legal way to discriminate against non married people and students. Why is it that a married couple would have to make 3x rent monthly split between the two (or 1.5 income each) but an unmarried couple or roommates have to make 3x rent EACH (6x rent total) or if you have 3 roommates, it would be 9x rent total monthly. How absurd. Did I mention that they only let co-signers help with income problems? But WONT allow a co-signer for credit nchallenges? I have never seen a property management company go so far to qualify for a property. No wonder all of their properties sit there empty for longer than any other property management company. If you qualify to live at a smart move property you would probably qualify honestly to just buy a house at that point. My friend who was helping us look for a place wrote a review and they told her that they would love to be in contact with her and help her get it approved (if she removed her honest review) for an application only to completely waste our time and tell me the same thing on the phone that they wouldnt budge on their qualifications. Its such a shame to the property owners that lose income while their homes set empty because SMPM go out of their way having potential tenants jump through EXCESSIVE loopholes just to qualify. Whoever owns the beautiful hale house that we applied to, such a shame that youll have to wait longer for someone else to qualify and wait longer to see income off of it. We were responsible potential tenants with great income that would have LOVED and EASILY paid our rent on time every month. Your loss.

It would be nice if they answered the phone or returned calls, but they dont. I tried to schedule a showing via their automated system and it wasnt working. I tried calling several times getting nothing, but an automated phone tree that gets you nowhere.

Smart Move Property Management is the BEST I have ever been with! 3 times in the last few months I have had expensive things fail at the house I am renting thru these guys and every single time they have got the repairs approved and done!! *Super fast, friendly and correctly. **They also come by every 6 months and do a walk thru and itemize all the small things that may need repaired or replaced and then schedule a time with me to come back and do the repairs!!! I have never had a better experience in 35 years of renting. :)
While we are sorry to hear of your personal set backs, no matter how you slice it, a credit score is a person's track record for how they pay their bills. Our clients are everyday people, too, and count on our processes to help protect their biggest asset by selecting people with proven track records. This philosophy hardly makes for a 1 star review. My hope for you is that one day you too can own an investment property so that you can see the other side of what protecting an investment looks like.

God forbid you ever have a medical emergency, lose your job or have anything else negative happen in your life that causes your credit to be destroyed and in the middle of it you need to find a new home for your family. Don't look for any help from this company, even if you can pay them 6 months up front. If you don't have 600 credit score, they think that you are not worthy of renting from them. They must think a credit score defines a persons and/or their ability to pay for something.
