I'm sure the people are nice but I've been to this place 3 times and my hair has looked different all 3 times and nothing close to what you see in my picture. I spend more money and time getting my hair fixed and recut than getting it done right the first time.

Hi Julie, Im very sorry to hear that your experience was less than ideal. It sounds like our stylist couldve definitely did a more thorough job consulting and explaining the steps prior to beginning the service. Teasing the hair for a balayage service is quite common, not for all stylists but still a very common and trendy technique. Unfortunately for scalp sensitive clients this could be uncomfortable during the brush out. Which is why a more thorough consultation mightve changed the direction of your experience. I do apologize again that it wasnt the best and hope you decide to give us another chance. Also the roughness in your hair is more likely caused by the bleaching and not by the teasing process. What an experience I had at this salon. I went in and was recommended (from what I explained I wanted) to get a balayage. I was excited and ready for the process to begin. hairstylists I got was nice and friendly. Then the horror started... I was not warned that the process used would be to paint the hair and tease it as well. The tease then is painfully combed/brushed out when the dye is washed out. It was one of the most excruciatingly painful and EXPENSIVE processes I have ever been through. When I wash my hair now it's also super rough when it's wet and I don't get why. The pulling and tearing from the tease must have damaged my hair a bit. After my experience, I was on youtube looking up tutorials and other salon professionals doing balayage and was extremely upset when I saw balayage processes that didn't include teasing. I suggest at least warning customers that this is the process used at this location so they can back out before it's too late.

Ive only been to skulls and combs once, but Id definitely go back! Atmosphere is awesome and not your typical stiff hair salon. Vanessa was my stylist; she was so patient and willing to cater to me and all my very particular needs/wants for my haircut. Im hoping to do something more fun and exciting for my hair in the future, but I know exactly who to go to when that time comes- Vanessa!

I scheduled an appointment with Val because she did a great job lifting my boyfriends hair from natural black to white and wanted a similar service. Both Vals hair service and customer service were top notch! Shes very knowledgeable about hair care and will work with you to get you your dream hair! I had black box dye in my hair, yet Val was about to lift the front half of my hair to a blonde!
