ErgoDirect's service is behind the ball technologically, and the customer service team was not fully empowered to resolve customer issues. I purchased an add-on item from the website for my Ergotron standing desk and was unhappy with the item. When I tried to return it in new condition, getting ahold of customer service was first a challenge. Second, they acted dumbfounded that I'd want to return an item, and it required they create a special "RMA number"/return request in their system that took a full week to get to me. Then, the shipping on the item to return it cost half the cost of the item itself$45and they were unwilling to help me offset that cost. It wasn't until after I'd spoken with a (very nice but enempowered) customer service rep who couldn't help me that I contacted the company through their "contact us" form as a last-ditch effort. They were finally willing to provide a shipping label at $26 to return the item, and I took it. Having dealt with so many ecommerce companies to date that make returns and customer service a breeze to navigate, this experience turned me off of ever working with them again.

And in this period the manufacturer has changed the delivery date on us several times. Skyrocketing demand for the HX arms and the heavy duty tilt pivot kit along with the supply problems associated with the pandemic worsened the situation. But we take full responsibility for whatever has happened. Please note we have been actively working with the manufacturer to better the situation for all the customers. Purchased several HX monitor arms and a heavy duty tilt mount for one of the arms. The heavy duty tilt mount was backordered. So, they decided not to ship until the tilt mount came in. I was a bit surprised when I had received nothing but discovered they had charged me for everything. I called and they said they were only waiting for the mount. I wasn't wild about getting charged, but decided to wait to save some shipping cost. A month later (Now a total of two months), I called and said I needed the monitor arms, so please just drop the backordered heavy duty tilt mount and send me the arms. They then informed me the arms were now backordered! They had sold the arms, even though they had charged me for them! They are prompt at answering questions, but their policies are not consumer friendly. Now they want a week to refund my money. They've lost my business forever!

Nick asked me lots of questions to understand my needs. My current office chair was more than 15 years old and was not comfortable. He walked me through a few different options in their showroom. I appreciate that he showed me things that would meet my needs first while not pushing the most expensive options. I enjoyed the whole visit, getting specifics about my home office measurements and desk height ergonomics. In the end, I bought a very good quality office chair and foot platform at a very reasonable price. Awesome service!!!

I apologize that we were not able to delight you with our service and products. On January 26th 2022 you placed an order for a very strong and heavy-duty chair, model IU79HD. During the order processing, we ask customers to provide their height/weight range to ensure that the chair is compatible with their personal requirements. Based on the information you provided, we noticed the chair you picked would not work for your requirements as you stated them. Our order desk then sent you an email explaining the same, and we offered you a stronger chair, the MX88IU with the correct weight capacity. You also asked about different fabrics so we explained the different fabric choices while offering to send you swatches of the fabrics free of charge as samples. It is a good practice to solidify fabric choices so you can touch and feel the fabric before you finalize your order. At some point, I offered my personal cell phone and asked you to call or text me (if my phone is busy) in case you had any further questions or thoughts. Worst Customer Service Experience Ever! Nice website. Placed my order online. The next day I get an email with questions about the choices I made and saying they had "the same chair" but that matched my specs. It wasn't the same chair, it was a different chair all together. Said no, I'll stick with my original order thanks. Time goes on, nothing. Log into the website, order is on hold. Website has chat support, so I reach out. Can't give me an answer or wont. Tells me Nikki or Nick will email me back within an hour. Really, you can't just let me know what's going on with my order?? Time goes on, Nick calls but it goes to VM because I'm at work. No email yet, but left a voice mail. In the voicemail, here's Nick still not letting me know what's going on with my order but asking me to Text him on his cell phone. Seriously? What kind of business is this? Text Nick back. Express displeasure with the service thus far, ask the same questions again, What's going on with my order. Message back from Nick - "I replied to your email." The email that I replied back to Nikki days ago............. Read the email..... Still nothing about what's going on with my order. Now I know what's going on with the order. I canceled it.
