**This post is for my experience with color services only**. I moved to Ravenswood recently, and as someone who has been loyal to Aveda for the past decade, was excited to see that there was an Aveda salon nearby, as my previous salon would now be more out of the way to get to post-move. The salon itself is clean and tidy, and seemed like a welcoming place. Hoewver, I cannot express how disappointed I was with my particular experience at this salon. I went in for a partial highlight, priced at $110. This was a similarly priced service as my old salon in the Gold Coast, but the quality of service was not at all comparable. My stylist, Amy, put approximately 4 foils on the top of my head, and then just kind of painted on some highlights on the sides haphazardly- the whole process lasting less than 15 minutes to apply the color. For the amount of money and based on previous experience, I would have expected many more foils and a much more careful application- I think at other salons I have spent nearly an hour on the color application. I have naturally pretty light blonde hair to begin with, but need to get it "freshened up" periodically. My first reaction when I saw how they came out was that they looked underprocessed (the color almost appears orange or honey colored vs. matching up with my lighter blonde colors, or that Amy just used the wrong color. After sleeping on it I am even more disappointed that it doesn't really look like the quality of service I expect from a reputable salon, and I completely wasted my time and money. I already called to schedule an emergency fix at my previous salon, but I did call Salon Elan Vital to speak with a manager about the experience and see if there was any way they could make things right. I wasn't offered anything to make me whole, aside from coming back in for more color, which after the first experience I am certainly not willing to do. She also told me that they hoped I would be happy with my hair after I got it fixed elsewhere... kind of a bizarre response, and the whole interaction shows that they obviously don't care about retaining my business in the future. Life lesson- "Aveda" is not synonymous with "high quality" and if you have a salon you are happy with, it's worth it to spend the extra time and effort to continue going to it even if it's no longer convenient to you... you may end up having to go back there anyways.

WARNING!! I would never recommend this spa for laser treatment. First off, they can go as cheap as you want to have you book an appointment. I have discussed my goals with Nahrein, the owner of the location, and when I booked an appointment for full body, she tried to cancel my appointment on the same day I have treatment and then had to reschedule the following day with her sister who had cheated and used power 16 on Candela instead of 30 which was not what I requested. I clearly asked them to use the highest on the machine. Her sister was in rush and got my full body done within 20 minutes. Unbelievable right?! Laser hair removal for full body of a hairy GUY takes 20 minutes? Is that possible? Anyway, her machine had to be restarted half way but she would have needed to wait like 20-30 min but she didn't want to wait so what she has done she turned the cooling off the machine and used the heat only with power 16 which is half less what I have requested. After she was done I asked to cover spots that she never touched, she refused and said you're done!! Just a friendly note to save your time and trouble and look for somewhere else. P.S power 16 was used all over the treatment as I could see the machine and when I asked Nahreins sister, she said no it was 30 with full confidence!! I have never met such a cheater in my whole life!!
