My friend went there for a wavy perm but still got a straight hair after that. Like...literally...much more straight than my hair which was permed more than a year ago. There's no way for her to get the money back. I'd say this place is highly overrated in terms of the communications between stylist and customer and the perm outcome. You would find it's hard to communicate with the stylist if you don't speak Japanese. My friend and I would not recommend this place because this is such a disappointing experience.
Ive been going to Dlala for a decade. Yutaka and his stylists are incredibly talented. Their attention to detail and level of care are second to none. Ive never left without a smile and badass haircut.
I never write reviews (or I typically do when its an amazing experience), but this was the worst customer experience Ive ever had in my life. The stylist was Mami (goes by Lauren I think), she was extremely rude to a point that I felt assaulted by her. She asked what kind of haircut I wanted and when I explained what I needed (literally was a simple trim to get dry ends off), she was extremely impatient. She complained that I cant keep my head straight in the chair and how has any stylist ever worked with me, to a point where she aggressively adjusted my head - gave me half a hair cut and stopped midway saying Ill have to stop. At this point Im sitting in the chair with one side cut and told her the other side is much longer - she complained its because I cant keep my head straight. She vigorously kept shaking my head. Absolutely ridiculous, extremely disrespectful, and extremely overpriced for the worst service of my life. After this she had the audacity to ask for a generous tip through venmo. Never going again and I wouldnt have written this review given how hard businesses are trying during Covid, but its important to report how I felt assaulted in this place.
