I previously bought a used Outback from the mechanic at the garage on the hill. It was a cream puff, excellent car. I went back to look at Discount Auto Sales thinking they were affiliated with the garage then I could find something comparable. I was wrong. I did find another Outback that looked decent enough. I drove it and although it wasn't as nice as the other one, I could look over the small things. Danny wouldn't negotiate on price one cent. He said the head gasket had been replace along with some other fairly major engine work and that he couldn't come down on price. I looked at and drove several Subarus and many had been painted and body work. I wish I would've listened to my gut and walked away. I bought it for my daughter at full asking price. Two days later I started having problems. 1.) I had to replace the battery. I guess he found one that was good enough to start the car that day but that's it. Cost $125. Just discovered why battery was dead. Turns out something is draining the battery when parked. Now gotta figure that out. 2.) The alarm system was going off for no reason. I had to tear into the dash and remove the unit. No wonder the doors were never locked on the lot. 3.) The rear tail light was out so I tried to replace the bulb. When I got into it, the entire socket and plug were so far corroded I had to order another online. Cost $50. 4.) The CD player does not work at all. Checked fuses-nope. Replace cost is still unknown. 5.) Water pump is leaking slightly. Cost will be several hundred for that one when I can finally afford it. 6.) The A/C stopped working yesterday. I guess it was charged enough to sell it but it has a leak somewhere. Cost still unknown. I haven't had this car 2 months and it's going to end up costing over $1000 more on a $4000 car to get it all right. Lesson learned. Should've listened to my gut. Stay away from Discount Auto Sales!
All of the vehicles I saw were overpriced for what they were. A subaru outback looked like it was taken out back and spray pained to cover God knows what. Be cautious there.
Looked over the internet for weeks for a car cause I just didn't want to jump on the first one, I drove 2 other Subaru's before the one I got from Discount auto sales, Bought/Drove a 2004 Subaru WRX (Wagon) the only issues I had was a loose transmission mount and i was fine with that really, I do mostly all my own work. Well he got the car fixed the same day and found out the cause of the noise I heard (trans mount) and had the timing looked over and plugs changed, The only thing I found wrong with the car was two lights on the back was bad but he JUST got the car in so i understand stuff will need to be replaced it almost seems like some people buy a used car thinking it will be NEW! your dealing with a used car/used market. this guy did more than he should have to help me get this car! I would do business with him anytime! No shady stuff nothing, He even told me if anything was up so I knew what to look for and it was fine so far so good and the little car is purring along. Thank you and will be back for a STI one day!
Ok let's get everything straight. I spoke with you on the phone to tell you that I had been out of the office due to the passing of a family member and sincerely apologized to you for the miscommunication between me and my staff. Yes, the truck got sold over the weekend due to me not letting my people know that there was a hold on it, and yes it was my fault, but I apologized and I am human and do make mistakes. Again, truly sorry

Called about a truck on Thursday. Spoke with Danny and determined I would buy the truck if its condition was what he stated. I live almost 3hrs from the dealer and needed to borrow the money from my financial institution. Got approved for the loan that same day and paid to overnight the check. Contacted Danny to let him know I had the money but couldn't make it till Monday. He agreed that it would not be a problem to hold the vehicle for me and insisted it would not disappoint me. He asked that I verify Sunday night that I would be coming. I texted Danny Sunday evening and said I'll be there around 10am, no response. Monday morning I get a text saying "Bill sold it Saturday sorry" If a man cant keep his word that's one thing but not telling me until I am about to make a 3hr drive is unacceptable. I cant expresse my frustration with people like that
