At The Moving Connection we always recommend doing an estimate even if we moved you before. Although it may seem like the same move as before, every move is unique. There are many things to consider when giving an estimate. For your particular move there was a long carry from the truck to your new apartment, and there was an elevator involved which adds a substantial amount of time to your move, making it longer than your first move. Our estimator's have been doing this job for a long time and we stand by our estimates. The customer was told that it would take longer than the last move, and she still hired us. It was unfortunate that you stated you would never use our company again. Your girlfriend (who set up this move), had called us after this move asking us to move her again, and she was unaware of this bad review you left us.

We used the Moving Connection for 2 moves in a 2.5 year period. The first move was fantastic. It took a 2 man team 4 hours (8 man hours) to move my girlfriend and I from 2 apartments into 1 location. I was not there to help with the move - just the 2 movers and my girlfriend handled everything. We were so impressed that we decided to use them again. On the 2nd move, Paul came to our place and did an estimate for us. I did not think this was necessary because they had done the move before. He claimed it would take 3 movers 5 hours (15 man hours) to do this move to a location that was < 5 minutes away. Note: this was an even shorter move than last time. The amount of stuff we were moving did not change. I disagreed with Paul during the estimate and said it should not take 3 guys 5 hours if it took 2 guys 4 hours and this move was easier. When all of this was finished, it took the 3 guys 6 hours (18 man hours) to do the move. They definitely took their time. To add to this, I had to help out just to keep them moving or else we would have had to pay even more. They failed to make use of hand trucks and chose to lift and move boxes 2-3 at a time when hand trucks could have been much faster. I emailed the owners about this 2 times asking for a refund of 2 hours since it took so long and they went over the estimate. The first time they said they would look into it and never got back to me after that. The second time they failed to get back to me at all. There is no way it should have taken 18+ man hours to do an easier job when they did it in 8 man hours the first time. Their failure to address my concerns and refund part of the time has lead me to NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

If you are looking for good reliable service this IS NOT the moving company for you. We had them paid and scheduled our move day and THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!!!! WOULD NOT ANSWER OR RETURN CALLS!!!!! Moving is stressful enough without having added stress. Save yourself aggravation, money, and stress. HIRE ANOTHER COMPANY!!!!!!!

Look no further, this is the moving company to use. They are professional, detail orientated, on-time and upbeat. During the stressful time of a move it's wonderful to have a team of professionals to rely upon. I had such great peace-of-mind knowing all of my items and my families items were packed safely, moved, placed in their new location and in pristine condition upon arrival. I gave an honest review of damage to several pieces of furniture. The owner wanted it removed for $250 in compensation. I was hesitant to do so. Below is my amended review. The owner is not satisfied; he wants it removed completely and is withholding the money. $250 will not even begin to pay for the damage. I would rather you know the truth. He is now threatening to say my husband is not a man of his word. He is determined to damage our business in Florida if we do not change it. The owner informed us that he records all conversations that you have with him. Why is that necessary? We have nothing to hide. I see other negative reviews have disappeared. Why is that? Decide for yourself if you want to do business with this man. Moving connection changed owners this past year so older positive reviews are probably for the previous owners. There was damage to several pieces of our furniture when they packed a pod for us. At first they said they were not responsible. But the owner has been in touch with us and has agreed on some compensation for the repair of our furniture. They are reevaluating some of their procedures and communication skills with customers so I am hopeful that they will be giving good service to those in the future.
