The team member probably thought the kids were alone. Our staff and volunteers do ask our young guests to stay with their parents and not shop alone in the toy area. Unfortunately we get a lot of things broken in that area. We also worry about the kids climbing the shelves for safety reasons. While I don't think she intended to be rude, I am sorry she came across that way. We truly do try to be caring and respectful, and I am sorry that communication didn't feel that way.

It is a very nice place to shop. Until a woman speaks badly to children, she is employed there and it is not the first time that she speaks badly to girls, my daughter was looking at the toys, I am in line to pay and the lady told her get out get of here. please do something this can't be happening has a bad vocabulary to communicate with children
The food pantry is a joke. A single person gets 1 lb of protein for a month but only 1 time did I ever get meat of any kind there. The flour and rice are full of bugs and even putting things in the freezer for a week results in contamination of my entire pantry. The canned goods are routinely a year or more out of date. There is rarely fresh veg of any kind. Not enough food for a day much less a week. I am a woman in my 60. O and if you are a woman they give you less than a man. As far as the clothing alliance, in 6 years Ive only been able to buy mens clothes because there is never anything in my size. There have been times when I was starting a new job that I could have really used the help. Also they dont really serve the low income. Prices are not affordable for low income. When I moved into my apartment with very little they had pledged $50 for furniture but they didnt stand by their pledge. The worst part is that every church in town supports them. It should be better for all the donations and money they have. REVEAL RESOURCE CENTER in Cedar Park is the best. You can get a big box of food every week. They also have job training and other programs. Caring place could learn a thing BK or two from them. They also do Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes.
Thanks Cathy! And all purchases support a mission to help those in financial crisis in our local community.

When I travel, one thing I do is check out the resale shops on my route, so I consider myself a resale shop connoisseur. As far as resale shops go, this is a very descent resale shop. Very organized, clean, they receive very nice donationed items and for thr most part, items are fairly priced.
Sean, thank you for your feedback. We know due to COVID-19 a lot of our regular procedures have changed in order to keep everyone safe. We understand this may create some additional challenges for some. At this time we give each car and each walker the same amount of food, roughly 40-50 pounds. And, we ask that only walkers use the walk up. Because our food distribution is no longer once a month this allows families to receive food 2-3 times a week. We find those that share rides are able to share the food and continue to come back as often as they need. Those that do this share with us that its plenty. We will consider your feedback though as we continue to make future plans. You are right, everyones situation is different, and we hope that youll continue to receive food through the current method if you need it.

Two weeks ago on a Thursday I was denied food from the walk up pantry line. Typically it takes me and hour and a half to ride my bike to and from this establishment from my home near Sun City. Not an easy task but a burden I have come to expect if indeed i need a little help during these uncertain times. Two weeks ago I was relieved when a friend offered me a ride to your pantry services of which he was forced to take part of as his situation and mine are similar. Only he hS a truck and comes from the Weir area. After being blessed by this man and his good intentions. I left from the truck to walk up for the pantry as I normally do as he drove around as he normally does. I was refused services because I had gotten a ride?? That was indeed what I was told. Apparently help will only be rendered to me if I make the agonizing ride to and very miserable trek back with groceries all the way to Sun city via my bike. I went hungry as a result and would like to know who those two men think they are to think they can justify denying someone services like this when being given as " charity"?. People should not be judged by your Christian volunteers so hastily. They don't know anything g about my situation and the way they treated me left me feeling very angry. Being denied because I hadn't suffered as I normally do?. Which I expect from life normally. But to have to endure that from those who are claiming to be a beacon of hope after the humbling experience of even needing help is unbearable. I will steal food before I am treated like that again. Thanks but no thanks . Keep your caring for the ones that suffer more than me. Because I will humble myself no more. I hope none of them are lucky enough to catch a ride up there. Cause thar is not acceptable and you will go hungry.
