A fellow rider was interested in purchasing a new bike came here to inquire about their bike selection. The customer service rep began to take down a trek but then stated never mind, you wont be able to afford it. My friend is African American and a woman. We have not received an apology or any acknowledgement from this company regarding the incident. Without any recourse fro this I highly recommend that people of color and others not support a company with these values.

Good Morning I understand one of my fellow cyclists was in your store on Friday morning around 10:30 am, she was speaking to a young man there regarding a Trek bike. After showing her the bike, he proceeded to say and I quote, But you probably cant afford it. Now, its my understanding that your business is to sell and service bicycles for the community no matter who lives in that community, but for this young man to assume that this African American Lady could not afford the bike in question does not look good for your business. I would really like to have a discussion with you regarding this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Aside from being spoken to, the service was very poor. I'm from out of town and stopped in the shop to take a look at some road bikes. Today. 10:30 am. The young man with red hair and an injured right elbow asked if I needed help. I said yes, I'm interested in a road bike. He pointed to a red Trek and then stated, and I quote, "But you probably couldn't afford it." As an African American Female, I am appalled at the disrespect I received as a potential customer. I have posted on several African American social media platforms to stay away from this shop. If this is the type of employees you hire, you will not be needing our business.
