Every experience I have had at Greenwood has been BAD. I bought my Explorer from them with the agreement they would fix some minor blemishes. They took my explorer and it sit at there shop for 2 weeks and they did not touch it. When you buy a new car you want to drive it. My next 2 visits there were for oil changes. I had appointment both times and still had to wait an hour before they took my car in. Would not buy from them again.
Had issues with my mustang window falling out the soft top. . .was sent from shop to body shop. . .body shop wouldn't fix and sent me to a window repair,. .they sent me back. They then tried to send me to upholstery repair . .I asked them to do it and acted put out. .I left car with them and when I called two days later they claimed they told me they couldn't fix it then . .I went and picked car up.
We drove over 3 hours to buy from Greenwood Ford and we weren't disappointed at all! From the moment you arrive, you are treated like family and a lifelong customer. Dustin was our salesman and he was exactly what you want in a salesman, honest, straight forward, and responsive to our needs. Buying a car is the second largest purchase made in my lifetime and when I spend that kind of money I expect to be treated fairly, honestly and respectfully and Greenwood Ford does exactly that! We were upfront about our concern in dealing with a previous "salesman" from another dealership and he assured us that Greenwood Ford doesn't do business that way and then he proved it in action. Exceptional staff and an incredible experience during this vehicle purchase. I would highly recommend Greenwood Ford to anyone serious about purchasing a vehicle and being treated well.
We came to Greenwood Ford with a very specific car type in mind. We wanted something economical with enough space for four to ride comfortably, enough cargo space to hold a bid shopping run, and a manual transmission. We fully realize that manual transmission is something of a rarity these days, but we really like driving with a stick and we'd done enough online shopping to know that these cars exist. We'd already spotted that Greenwood Ford had a new Fiesta on the lot that was equipped with a stick shift. The salesman who met us, Montel Richardson, knew immediately what was there and brought us to the Fiesta we'd already spotted. Unfortunately, the Fiesta was just too small for our needs. Montel went to work and found that there was a Focus hatchback with a manual transmission at a nearby dealership. At this point the New Car Sales Manager, who shall remained unnamed, nearly blew the deal by giving us an extremely arrogant and condescending lecture about why we really didn't want a new car with a manual transmission. We were about 10 seconds away from turning to leave the lot. We stood our ground and he reluctantly agreed to transport the car for us to see, only after making us fill out a bunch of unnecessary paperwork for us agreeing to buy the car at the agreed price if the car was acceptable. They went as far as to explain that this paperwork was non-binding was required to move the car to Greenwood. The next day was Sunday, but the dealership was open for the Memorial Day sale, and Montel called at 1:20 to say the car was here and would be ready for us in 15 minutes. At 2 PM we had still not gotten a callback, so we went to the dealership in case there had been a miscommunication. We were told the car had just been taken for fueling, and would be there any moment. Twenty minutes later the car arrived for us to test. This car is going to have to handle driving in the hills of East Tennessee and 40-miles daily on I-26 in Tri-Cities TN, so we were skeptical that a car with a 1.0 liter engine could possibly have the power to cope with that. Our hats are off to the Ford engineers who designed the 1.0 L Eco-Boost 3-cylinder turbo engine. It handled the worst we could throw at it with aplomb! On I-65 we got it up to 75 mph and in 6-th gear it was strolling along at 2500 rpms with power to spare in passing. For hill driving we took it the Bowling Green's famous High Street on hospital hill. (Drop the Street-View icon on Google Maps to the corner of Fairwiew and High to see for yourself!) The car handled the hill with a running start still in 2-nd at the top. It also managed a cold start from halfway up at the steepest part of the hill. We had never experienced the hill-assist feature before, so we amazed when the car, with the clutch fully disengaged and foot off the brake, did not budge backwards on the hill. It took a few tries to get used to revving the engine enough to overcome both the hill and hill-assist, but two different drivers were able to get the car going up the hill and even shifting up to 2-nd while climbing. That was all the proof we needed to decide to buy the car. Once back at the dealership it took only a few minutes with the finance manager to write the check for the car and fill out the paperwork. We drove it cross-country from Bowling Green to Tri-Cities the next day and got right at the 33 MPG combination city/highway mileage the sticker estimated. This includes driving through some rough terrain around the Cumberland Plateau and Clinch Mountain, so it was a balance of city and highway driving. After driving it for a week we have learned all sorts of tricks and capabilities we hadn't known and so far it has been fun and faithful to drive. We can recommend the Ford Focus to anyone looking at a sedan / hatchback wanting economy, comfort for 4 passengers, and cargo space. For our fellow Luddites who still prefer driving a stick shift, don't let the 1.0 L Eco-Boost engine deter you! It may be little, but it's Science-Fiction little in a Tomorrowland kind of way!
After setting up my appointment online and speaking with the rep in the service department I had an 8 am appointment to have my oil changed and to check out why my new truck was running as bad as my old 84' ford truck. after sitting for 3 hours and am told once again that my size engine is suppose to run rough according to the specs. if I had known this, I would not have bought this model. I guess this is part of the sales tactics not to tell the buyer there is a difference in each motors performance,. as I went to pay for my work I had done, I found out they did not even change the oil or rotate my tires as I clearly told the rep. the rep stated that they had no opening to change oil, that it would be quite a while longer. I was teed. I talked with the manager of sales and was able to get a loaner for the night. the Manager of the service department called me later that afternoon and apologized for all the confusion, and gave me his personal phone number to call him if I happen to have anymore troubles.
