I highly recommend choosing a better company. I have dealt with much better and more professional companies like them. Not very knowledgeable, always problems.
Hi Samantha- Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate you sharing your feedback. The rules around health insurance are complicated and can be frustrating. We encourage you to reach out to the Helpside Client Success Team anytime a life event occurs that could drastically change your insurance needs. While giving birth is a qualifying life event that allows you to add a dependent, you are not allowed to make a change to your plan option from a high-deductible health plan to a traditional plan at that time. Outside of open enrollment, you are not allowed to change your plan option. Qualifying life events allow you to add or remove coverage, depending on the particular circumstance. For example, you can add a new dependent when: A child is added to your family though birth or adoption, A spouse (and/or dependent child) is added to your family through marriage, or A spouse or dependent child loses other group health insurance coverage. You can remove a dependent from your coverage when: A dependent child reaches age 26 and is no longer eligible, Divorce (spouse and stepchildren), Loss of life (spouse or dependent child), or Spouse or dependent child obtains other group health insurance coverage. You can cancel all coverage and drop all dependents when: You are no longer eligible for the health plan because you are no longer working at least 30 hours per week, or You obtain other group health insurance coverage. All changes due to qualifying life events must be reported with 60 days of the qualifying event (currently waived under FFCRA) and often certain documentation, such as a birth certificate, marriage license, divorce decree, or proof of other coverage is required. We are aware that some carriers may allow minor plan changes upon the birth of a child, but each will have their own rules and restrictions associated with that kind of change. We dont know of any carriers that would allow changes that would be a significant cost savings to the plan participant. If you arent currently using a Health Savings Account (HSA) to use pre-tax dollars to pay for medical expenses, we would encourage you to explore that option. Using an HSA is one of the biggest benefits of participating in a high-deductible health plan. Our Client Success Team would be happy to chat with you about that option. They can be reached at (801) 443-1090 or [email protected]

Helpside will rip you off in any way that they can. We had a baby recently and were planning on changing our insurance plan with the life event status change. Most employers and HR companies allow this. EMI health, our medical insurance provider said that it shouldnt be an issue- its a common occurrence. We are on a high deductible plan since this was an unplanned pregnancy. After paying our way through prenatal care, we are now learning that we can add our child as a dependent, but no changes can be made to our current healthcare plan, so the birth and hospital costs will be billed to our high deductible plan. We will owe thousands of dollars. A high deductible plan is only beneficial to families with low healthcare costs. We never would have chosen this plan if we knew we would be having a baby this year, and to not allow us to change the plan to lower costs of childbirth is unethical. Helpside exploits their customers with this ridiculous policy. Im sure theres many people who have been in our shoes who have been forced into paying extremely high medical bills due to this restrictive life event policy.
Thank you for your review Ailin. We enjoy working with you and your team!

Helpside's professionalism and attentive responses to their clients is greatly appreciated! Every interaction that I've had with their team - whether it be Brandon White as the Director of HR, to Tiana from the benefits team, or Kathy from payroll, they are all very responsive, professional, and never fail to follow up to make sure our inquiries were resolved in a timely manner. Such an awesome team!

Helpside has made being an HR professional easy. They are there any time I have a question or need help. Their customer service is phenomenal and all their employees helpful and friendly. I would recommend Helpside to any company!
Hi Annamarie- We apologize for the delayed response. We wanted to take the time to review the situation to make sure we understood the circumstances. We are sorry you had a negative experience. Helpside does partner with a separate company for financial planning services, so they would not have had any information about your health insurance through Helpside. We understand that must have been frustrating. We never pass employee contact info onto the outside company unless an employee expresses interest in those financial planning services during the employee onboarding process, as your husband did. When you start a new job, navigating the available benefits options can be tough. We believe that you have now received all the information you need, but if not, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] for additional assistance. We want to be as helpful as possible and never intended to cause unnecessary stress or aggravation. We do appreciate the feedback and will continue to work internally to continue to provide the best possible experience for the employees of our client companies.

I spoke with a representative because they called husband saying that they were setting up his insurance but they wanted to do financial planning that we did not ask for. It was very misleading and the representative was very rude. I would never use this service if my husband's company did not use them. The representative didn't help with anything that we needed and just said someone else would email my husband. If you are a company looking for this service, do your employees a favor and look somewhere else. (It looks like the only good posts on here for them are written by their own people, just look through all of the posts)
