Hi Ole, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. According to your report, the 99 Suburban was brought in for the check engine light and the vehicle was not running properly. The issue with your radio was a secondary concern. We always have our technicians perform an inspection as well as the diagnosis that you approved to identify the issue, in hopes to avoid putting money into a vehicle that is worth less than the repairs. While our technician was able to identify the runnability issue that the Suburban was brought in for, unfortunately we could not duplicate the radio issue. We provided you with an estimate that would repair the runnability concern, from that point we leave it up to the customer to decide if they want to perform the repairs. Whether or not the vehicle is worth the repairs is up to the customers discretion, and we respect your decision to not perform the repairs.

I brought in my 99 Suburban for the check engine light and the radio working intermittently. It too 4 days to get the vehicle back. They did nothing. They said they couldn't fix the radio because it worked when they turned it on. Then they estimated $4,800 to repair the engine. The vehicle is worth about $3,000 and I had told them I didn't want to spend much money on an old truck. Pegoraro charged me over $270 to hook up their computer analyzer unit. I said no, I wouldn't be paying them $4,800. As I drove home the radio would not work. Disgusting business!

Tuned my carburetor incorrectly, when I didn't authorize adjustments to be made. You cannot tune a Weber 32/36 like a stock Toyota carb, but they seem to think that and a 1200+RPM idle speed is okay. Claims they "Don't know who I am" or what "vehicle" I had. I brought a 1985' Toyota pickup in for a SMOKE test. I rebuilt the motor, I do all my own work. I asked for a smoke test to verify what I already knew, that I didn't have any vacuum leaks. This is all I asked for. A smoke test does not entail tuning my carburetor PAST Weber's guidelines. If you cannot work on something with an aftermarket carburetor, don't accept the damn work in the first place. I run a business surrounding these trucks, I help dozens of people with the same carburetor. I know these in and out. Again, I did not authorize work to be done to my carburetor. I did not have the provisions to do a smoke test myself, so I outsourced to a local business.

You are right Jake. Between warranty issues, insurance issues, and legal issues, we do not install customer supplied parts. If one of those parts a customer supplies fails and causes an accident it puts us in a poor situation. Insurance has let me know that if a legal battle ensues from something like this it just becomes a lose-lose situation. Unfortunately as a business owner we have to protect ourselves from these situations.
