I purchased a vehicle at Todd Maserati Danbury and its been nothing less than a nightmare from day one. When I purchased the car the original invoice had charges that I was not aware of. Todd one of the co owners did take care of that. But shockingly two days after I took the car home they called me and said they never took a payment from me even though I gave them my debit card. I proceeded to let them run the credit card. Then the nightmare really began when I had screeching brakes , whining steering , loose head rests , worn windshield wipers, carpets w no attachment piece etc. These MAJOR AND MINOR REPAIRS SHOULD HAVE NOT BEEN OVERLOOKED AS IT IS A CPO CAR. Todd assured me they would RE CERTIFY IT , I brought it back they gave me a loaner car. Almost 6 weeks later I pick up my car. Then as I was waiting for my car the service manager named Brian Eckart had the audacity to walk by me and say arrogantly that I shouldve returned the loaner car cleaner because my car was cleaNED BY THEM AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE FINALLY DONE. When they provided me the loaner car they said they were going to have my car for a very long time and I explain to them clearly that I have a dog that needs to be dropped off to a place every day and they said no problem. (If he sold me a truly CPO car I wouldnt have had to borrow the car for six weeks). There was a bit of dirt but nothing excessive. Shockingly when I came home that evening with my car the other co-owner Amie Bennett called me and said that they were scratches on the bumper, (not true) dog hair etc. She said I should charge you but we can go half. I explained to her that the complete negative experience that Ive had with them was unbelievable and told her she felt the need to charge me half which was going to be $100 then please go ahead. She did not charge me. Not even two weeks later the whining in my power steering started again , one of my head rests was loose etc. it was such a loud noise I bought to Maserati of Westport which I cant say enough good things about. On diagnosis they said it was clearly a power steering leak and it was metal in the fluid and Service manager said it was very clear that it was leaking and if this shouldve been picked up by a mechanic. What we know is that they topped off the fluid when youre not supposed to because this is a closed system just to shut the noise up . I even saw the leak clearly just looking down under the hood of the car and Im not even a mechanic. Basically this indicates that a qualified mechanic from Todd Maserati avoided the diagnosis to avoid the repair. It was in such poor damage because of the leak they replace the entire power steering system! The also found that the brake fluid which is breaking down was not changed when Todd Maserati changed my brakes. They also found that both my air filter and interior filter was completely clogged up and was the original filter from 2017.! These are things that are under the CPO umbrella and shouldve not been overlooked. Its shocking that they replaced the brakes (Again because it was sold to me with worn down brakes) but did not change the fluid. I spoke to Maserati North America and explained what has transpired and said I will never return to the dealership again and hoping that they could reimburse Maserati of Westport.They said since its a franchised outfit that Todd Maserati would have to pay Westport Maserati for those things that they overlooked and Todd Maserati said NO of course. Todd Maserati clearly isnt qualified to work on these cars or they didnt want to and they want to take shortcuts and say the car is CPO when its not. The shocking conclusion ..because Maserati called Todd Maserati asking them to pay for the repair from another dealership ,I just received a bill in the mail for a dirty loaner car for $300. Its laughable but absolutely poor business from Todd Maserati as this indicates vengefulness on their part. Lucky I saved my emails and my texts from this dealership because this is not acceptable!
Shady pricing! Complete waste of our time! We viewed an Lexus ES350 that was priced below market expecting to get a great deal.my husband and I traveled over an hour to view and purchase the vehicle. The test drive was a nice experience with Jake. But that is where the positive experience ended! We sat with sales managers to discuss purchase of the vehicle. He brought out financing options that were well over the monthly payments for a vehicle of that price. This is where the shady business started! My husband inquired what fees where included in that payment and asked for an itemized list of the hidden fees! Jacob returned with the itemized list that included an addition $10,000 in dealer fees. The largest fee was a $6,000 (optional) service contract. Basically a warranty that we did not ask for. Now we get into the absurd fees. First of which was a $1300 document fee. Next was a $500 anti theft fee that we were told was a requirement. Third, the most ridiculous fee I have ever heard of! The.ready for this$2000 cilajet that is applied to all vehicles and cant be removed from the sales contract! We communicated this was unacceptable shady business but were willing to purchase if they lowered the vehicle price. They said we can leave then! At this dealership the price you see is NOT the price you get its just a lure! First image is all fees. Second image is after he removed the optional service fee and the required anti-theft. BUYER BEWARE Dream Car turns into a NIGHTMARE I was thrilled, I found my dream car, was treated up front like a queen and within 48 hours had it purchased financed and delivered to my home in Mass. But, I was never given a bill of sale and was told my plates were being transferred. My insurance company and RMV said it takes 48 hours once the paperwork is dropped off. For the next 21 days, ( NOW 25 DAYS) I kept waiting for plates to be transferred and kept getting the same response Covid has the rmv backed up. Meanwhile two friends bought cars out of state and NO problems, they got plates within 48 hours. I called insurance company and made an appointment with the RMV and they said, NO that although dealers could not make an appt, they in fact created drop boxes to make it EVEN EASIER and even if my personal paperwork wasn't in hand, if it was filed, it is in the SYSTEM. Mine is not in the system, because the Dealer hired a third party and NO ONE knows where my paperwork or registration is. I have left messages every few days and except for the poor sales guy ( WHO GETS 5 Stars, ) not one person has returned a single call in 3 weeks. So my dream car sits in my garage, with no Bill of sale, no registration, undriveable.I have paid a month of unnecessary insurance , spent countless hours trying to contact people... kindly I May add, I just want a solution, and yet I cannot legally drive my dream car. I am so dishearten by their unprofessional follow up. Once they had the sale, I have been ignored... I dotn treat people that way, and its Not how I want to be treated... Think twice before you buy .
