Hi There, sorry for the delayed reply and thanks for sharing your comments on the experience. Yes, we agree the costs to clean vehicles can often be very high - these fee's are set by the ports and by MPI (NZ quarantine) and we have no control over them. If we could ensure every car passed without the need for cleaning / re-inspection etc we certainly would. NZ have some of the strictest quarantine laws in the world, they will drive the vehicle over a ramp, they will inspect underneath the vehicle, they look under the wheel arches, under the engine, in the chassis rails etc - If they find mud / grass / sticks / leaves etc in these areas then unfortunately the vehicle will need to be cleaned prior to release - These are area's that are not usually cleaned when you pay a local car wash or detailer to clean the car prior to shipping. We're really pleased to hear that aside from the MPI ordered cleaning you were happy with the process and the service you received from us - If you would consider updating your review in reflection of the work and service Willship International provided we would be greatly appreciative :)

I had a great experience with will ship until the last stages. Delay in the car arriving, delay in being checked by MPI. Then after already having my car detailed prior. Getting charged $546 TO vacuum the car. I was advised this could be a possibility and that I may be charged up to $150-$300 but not $546 .....this is just robbery . I was also advised as part of the reason for these fees being so high is because the rent in Auckland is very expensive. But my car was shipped from Melbourne to lyttleton. Apart from this the process and communication was great and easy. They also will look into the cost to get a breakdown and better explanation for me. Happy to edit this review if they come up with a resolution. :)
Hi Lyn, It was disappointing to receive this review almost 6 weeks after Robert had received the vehicle back into his possession and without receiving any of this feedback from either of you directly. We are always looking for ways to improve as a company, so feedback is always appreciated, although after speaking to you today on the phone and hearing that you are completely uninterested in discussing any aspect of the shipping experience with us it's left us all very confused as to why you felt the need to leave us a bad review, so I thought it best to address your review with the facts. Your claim that our communication was poor is entirely false, after looking into the email communication that Robert had with our teams I can see that he was updated every step of the way with accurate information, which he thanked us for each time. Many of our past clients also commend us on our level of communication and customer service, as you would see from other reviews. Customer service is the number one focus in our business. The added costs that were charged on were for aspects of the shipment that are completely beyond our control and were potential costs that were explained in detail to Robert prior to the booking being placed. All vehicles need to be inspected on arrival by NZ biosecurity and if they detect anything on the vehicle that they deem to be 'risk material' (sticks / leaves / mud etc) then they will order it to be cleaned prior to it being released into New Zealand. This was the reason for the additional cost in this case, the potential of this happening was made very clear to Robert prior to shipping and unfortunately the vehicle was ordered for cleaning following it's inspection, hence the additional costs. We explained this to Robert at the time, and again, there was no complaint from him in this regard. We are aware that there some complications on the day the vehicle was supposed to be collected and registered from our compliance depot in Penrose. Officers from the NZ Transport department were completing an audit at the time Robert went to pick the car up, so it was not possible for him to leave with the vehicle at the time, however our compliance team apologised for the inconvenience and took the initiative to register the vehicle on his behalf as soon as they were able to and delivered the car to Robert free of charge on the same day. The confusing part for us here is that we have never once had any dealings with you directly, everything was done through Robert and from all accounts he was happy with everything. We are unsure why you felt the need to chime in and leave us this negative review 6 weeks after the completion of the move when you have not had any communication with us directly prior, and you refused to discuss the reasons why when we gave you call - quite frankly we feel it's very unfair and this review is completely unwarranted based on the service we provided. If any issues that you have supposedly encountered with Willship International have not been addressed here we welcome a phone call on 07 3267 3694 and we'd be happy to discuss in detail with you.

Not impressed with these guys. Added on money, poor communications and overall sloppy.
The team at Willship assisted us with importing a trailer from Australia. Great communication all the way through the process, clear documentation, and delivery as advised.

I had the opportunity to use this company early October, 2019 and without a doubt I could not have gotten better. From the start of ny inquiry they guided me through the process I just couldnt go wrong. I was made aware of options to save money, to pay extra costs which will help you either here or in NZ.
