I usually never have to write bad reviews but sadly I felt this one is warranted. I visited this place about a year ago to get my prescription taken so I can buy glasses online, after the exam i wasnt given a prescription but instead had to ask for it, and was expected to purchase the overpriced frames there. Sadly the prescription I was given was still making me see blurry, I went back and they they gave me a new prescription for free, After having to order the glasses online again, they were much better. A year passes and since this place was in a convenient location I decide to go again to update my prescription. This time I decide to purchase the lenses there. Which were $269 for the lenses themselves, to put that into perspective I can buy 2 pair of glasses and frames online for $115. But I honestly dont care about the price as long as Im getting a quality product. And regrettably I encounter the same issue, I still see a little blurry with the new glasses. At this point I just decide to take my business elsewhere to get my prescription. I go back to request a refund, As I had already purchased new glasses at Costco. Im told they can remake the lenses for free, and after insisting I would just prefer a refund, I am told there are no refunds and that it is stated in my receipt. While talking to the salesman there. I also mention to him how I didnt like that my prescription was not given to me without me having to ask as stated by the law. Source: ftc.gov The Federal Trade Commission enforces the Eyeglass Rule. It requires eye doctors ophthalmologists and optometrists to give patients a copy of their prescription whether they ask for it or not. Its the law. The salesman then had a complete shift of character and asked me to leave immediately and never come back. And I did just that. Dont plan on ever going back there again. All I wanted was a refund.
Unfortunately Dr. Menke has chosen poor management to represent her. I've been a patient with her for over 10 years back when she was at the Falls. Her new store manager is basically a slimy, used car salesman type that makes your skin crawl when you have to deal with him. Rather than building relationships her patients, he works to destroy them. Undermining her ability to build strong relationships with customers. Get rid of the slimeball managing the front of your store Dr. Minke. I won't come back until he's gone, along with his policies.
This is a boutique optical with a grate variety of frames and the latest trend on lenses and the best thing with very good and competitive prices. Highly recommend Minkes.
I am going to note that this has nothing to do with their products, the doctor, or the optical services provided as I did not use any of these, but rather the treatment by an intake staffer, which after my ordeal, does not entice me to return. I would give two stars, but I acknowledge that I am not a customer either so I have to give some benefit of the doubt. I needed my sunglass lenses changed for ones I purchased and because I could not do it myself, I came here due to proximity. When I asked if they could do that and how much they would charge for the service, the technician signing people in was hesitant, but had me sign a waiver (which I think is not only extreme, but unprecedented) and went to the back for a few minutes with my sunglasses and the lenses, then returned and said it could not be done at this location because they "lacked the special tools" needed for Ray Ban glasses. As a widely known and popular brand I find this hard to believe as the store itself sold Ray-Ban glasses. I left without a further word, drove to For Eyes, and had it changed effortlessly and with pleasure by very nice associates who didn't even charge me, much less sign a waiver. And I double-checked with the staff at For-Eyes - no "tools" at all need to be used, nor are there any "special tools" exclusively for Ray Ban either. All in all, this experience left an unpleasant and lingering sour taste so I do not recommend this store because if they say things like this for a pair of glasses, that small tidbit exclaims a lot when seen in a bigger picture.
