Was in Hood River for the first time last Saturday. Went out with Adam and a new kite! Adam was great and we toured the river far upwind. Learned how to jump higher! I did not bring my equipment but was not disappointed with the new gear I was treated to. Having only kited in the Pacific I really appreciated having Adam around to teach me some of the rivers characteristics. Thanks guys!

I did the custom lesson with Jim Bison and had a great experience! Jim learned from Cory Roeseler, the pioneer of kite skiing and modern kiteboarding. He teaches kiteboarding instructors how to teach. You can learn to kiteboard with poor habits or you can learn to do it correctly with Jim. From rank beginner to self-sufficient rider- he will get you up and riding CORRECTLY!!!!!! Oh yeah, by the way.Get your sleep the night before and don't plan anything else the day you do your lesson with him.you'll be beat!!!!! Thanks again Jim for a great day on the water!

Just finished my first two lessons with these guys and had a great experience; Adam is a great instructor. He will chase you all around the Columbia as you crash and crash and eventually he'll get you up and kiting! My only complaint was with their gear selection- my first lesson I froze because my wet suit was huge, my helmet was too big and not useful and my water shoes were too big. My second lesson Adam fitted me with well fitting gear and it made a huge difference! I was up and kiting by the end. I get it now; I get why people structure their lives around this sport. It feels like flying. I can't wait to take more lessons.

Had a great experience with New Wind! Brandon was a fabulous instructor...very encouraging, patient, and I knew I was in good hands the whole time. This was my first experience kiting in the Gorge so I was nervous about the higher winds, waves, and current, but once I was out there with Brandon I didn't think about anything other than becoming a better kiteboarder. Definitely give New Wind a try!
