I wanted to purchase some books from the gift shop and was told it wasn't open to the public till Friday. I have never heard such a Park Ranger be rude and tell me purchases being suspicious. Most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

Nice park, with good visitors center. My rating really reflects that, while trails are as advertised in terms of difficulty of climb, as a senior, I found them not well maintained, very narrow and very many exposed roots and rocks to navigate, not recommended for dogs as well for same reason. Add a star or two if younger and experienced hiker.

The employee at the visitor center was very helpful and knowledgeable. I expected a little more than what I got otherwise. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful place to walk and full of history.

This park does not accept Georgia State Park yearly passes Friday through Sunday very disappointing. No wonder it was practically empty on a beautiful day.
