Hi Lexie, I am the owner of Mountain Top Tees, though I can appreciate you supporting the artwork of your friend; I wanted to let you know that we have been in business since 1984 and we have held a US copyright on the image on our T-shirt since 2002. I see similarities in your friends artwork, but personally do not see any copyright infringement... since we created this original image in 2001 and do hold the copyright rights to it, if there was any concept stealing I don't believe it is Mountain Top Tees who is at fault. We choose to believe that two artists used similar imagery to interpret similar ideas but just like not every painting that depicts stars in a night time sky is a rip off of starry night, we choose to believe your artist friend probably had not seen our design prior to creating his, approximately, 13 years after we copyrighted our image. I just felt that you should have all the information. Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving!
