It saddens us deeply that somebody would give us such a review. This is a young lady who came in with her girlfriend and immediately communicated to us that she had no interest in joining the gym and was there for the groupon one month deal only. We tried to explain technique is something ongoing and not a one and done quick fix so still spent the time to show her proper form. She didn't seem to want to listen. It takes time to get results. Her comment of "misogynistic" is referring to the Olympic titles of "male" bars and "female" bars everyone in the professional industry refers to that is appropriate for the different classes to get started (hand size). It is not a sexist comment, just a way the Olympics categorizes it. Every time she entered the gym for the entire month package she would give very anti-social one-word answers to our instruction so we tried not to hover over her and give her the space she needed. We strive to give people a good experience in the gym no matter their skill level and will continue to work hard to teach people proper techniques so they can get effective workouts.

Really disappointed in my experience at Sparta Academy. I've been looking for a gym to teach me proper lifting technique and motivate me and Sparta failed on both counts. The trainers are unfriendly and you have to basically ask them if you are doing the movements correctly- even if you are the only one in the gym! For most of my month long cross training experience (I purchased the Groupon 1 month unlimited) it was me, my friend, and 3 TRAINERS in the gym with us. The one who did pay attention to us was slightly misogynistic but at least he was semi-focused. From Day 1 we were encouraged to add weight on movements we'd never done before (cleans) and even when we had questions on forms we knew were incorrect one of the trainers would just say "it's alright". After our last workout of the Groupon all that was said was, "you know the pricing, right?" What kind of business doesn't care about client retention or just people in general?? Overall, I wouldn't recommend Sparta Academy unless you are already trained in proper lift techniques, don't like social interaction, and don't need a high/positive energy workout environment.

This is a very well kept training facility with great staff that keep an amazing atmosphere. As a trainer I would recommend spartan academy to anyone looking to improve their physics fitness.

Been training at Sparta Academy since it opened. Clean facility, high end new equipment, beautiful white mats, and great classes. Im able to train not only in Cross Training, but also MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga, and Muay Thai kickboxing. Love this place!
