we had submitted an offer for a house and VILMA acknowledge it and sent an email but she magically forgot to give it to the home owners. interesting how she told us offers were due on Tuesday but in reality in was for Monday. she saw who we were and discriminated us because we were a Hispanic couple. she made us LOSE A HOUSE FOR OUR DAUGHTER! you will be getting reported and i hope your license gets suspended
During my 11 month rental period our microwave broke, shower was leaking, had birds in our walls and ceiling, and a ceiling leak because they had left a window in the attic open and our landlord always found a reason that it was something we could be liable for. Most issues were not fixed during our rental period despite reaching out a number of times with photo and video documentation. Then when we left, our landlord slowed down communication even more to the point that I was genuinely concerned I wasnt going to get my security deposit back. When I CC’d the branch manager on our email chain she was neglecting to respond to in regards to the return of our security deposit and severance of our lease, the landlord called me yelling at me calling ME unprofessional, and told me to “not worry about it, because shes going to give me my money back” after she reviewed my income and made me get a cosigner because I didnt make a lot and it was during the pandemic. In addition to not communicating the route and time frame in which she was going to return our security deposit (until I CCd her boss) she also charged us money for trash being in the bin outside in an accessible backyard in a 3 unit apartment in Providence- mind you both myself and roommate had moved out at least a month prior and had continued to pay rent there. It was a lot of added stress during an already stressful time and I would just say- if you rent from DBR document everything and keep an email chain because people are shady even during a Pandemic.
