This is my second time going to diagnostic imaging. My first time was a month prior to my appointment today. Both times I went, I had an issue with my insurance not being accepted. Prior to my appointments, my OB office had called and settled the issue with the billing department and came to the conclusion that my insurance actually is accepted. I had no problem with my first appointment (independence location) as I explained the insurance confusion to the receptionist, she made a quick phone call, scanned my insurance cards and settled it. Today, at the Englewood location, the front desk receptionist was completely out of line. The same issue came up about my insurance. As I was explaining it to the receptionist helping me, another receptionist cuts me off and says my insurance isnt covered. She continues to eavesdrop on the conversion while shaking her head with a sour attitude. After I am checked in and already sitting down in the lobby, the receptionist continues to gossip about the fact that my insurance is not accepted! My husband felt so disrespected on my behalf that he approached her and called her out for it. Why does she care? Whats the bother to her? If my insurance isnt accepted, Im the one who gets the bill in the mail. My main issue is that I am coming to diagnostic to get an ultrasound to see my baby boy. This is supposed to be a happy time. Instead, Im hearing this woman gossip about me, shake her head at me and interrupt my conversation.
