Do NOT use Care.com. They charge exorbitant fees and there is no way to speak with someone who can help you if you have an issue with your bill. The number posted online is a pre-recorded message that hangs up. If you are able to get someone from HomePay to transfer you, the Care.com representatives tell you that they do not issue refunds and that you cannot speak to someone who has that authority. Your only option is to have someone call you back at an unknown time. They make it very difficult for you to dispute anything, and everything is done via autopay. Deceptive practices. Terrible customer service.

I tried to work initially with a different payroll provider over a two week period. I then switched to care.com because the other payroll provider was nonresponsive and incredibly disorganized. I contacted care.com two days ago. Today, I ws able to pay our household employees. The customer service is exceptional. They answer the phone and you get to talk to a live person. They made the whole process easy. I highly recommend care.com to take care of payroll services. You guys are awesome! Thank you.

Our experience has surpassed all of our expectations! We knew that we would feel more confident leaning on professionals to handle the behind-the-scenes, but we had no idea how personalized and responsive and beyond competent they would be. As we explained, we collected the taxes that were due for these time periods, but it's impossible for us to know what the state will charge in penalties and interest ahead of time. HomePay is a scam. I've paid more in fees for them to "take care of my taxes" than I actually ended up owing. Except they underpaid and now I'm facing penalties. And they refuse to take ownership. Even if they did everything right (they didn't), paying 10% of a yearly salary to have them file my paperwork (they often asked me to do work for them every week) is a complete rip off. Do the math on how much you're paying them to file your taxes, and then ask yourself if they mess it all up with no guarantee, what's the point? Do it yourself.
