It wasnt great! I was a non-traditional patient as a 45 yr old with a cataract. The doctor forgot the plans we made to make my distance on my new lens 85%. Instead he put it at 100%. So, now my other eye cant be corrected the way we planned. I dont have good middle-ground or up close vision and I am an artist! Its very frustrating. When we discussed after follow-up, he didnt really take responsibility. Disappointing overall!

I wish I could provide a better rating but based on recent events and business practices I can't. The facilities are wonderful and the staff are okay(could be more knowledgeable and increase communication). My issue is with the overall experience I've had as a veteran. I have a special condition that I thought would be better served outside the VA for convenience. My first appointment was confusing as the lead doctor attempted to get me corrective surgery. I would have to pay an amount upfront and hope that the VA would reimburse me. That isn't how the VA works and veterans typically don't have deep pockets. This was a sales pitch. I thought the doctor would know I was only there for contacts. Not sure where the breakdown in communication came from, but it wasn't on me. I scheduled another appointment with the contact specialist. Appointment goes well I am told to wait for special contact order to come before setting up a fitting. Fast forward a couple of months I have not heard anything. I contact the clinic and am told now I have to pay upfront $850. Charge the VA that is who you have the service agreement with...correct? The policy was apparently put in place a year ago. No one told me. I don't know how many veterans get to this step and decide to turn around and skip the service. I feel like I wasted my time and the VA's money since I can't get my service complete due to the VA's reimbursement timeline. The VA should cancel the contract or agreement if a company causes burden to it's patients. Not happy with incomplete service.

En el proceso hacia mi cirugía fue de una experiencia única. Fueron dos cirugías y en cada una de ellas estaban presentes un personal bien calificado, aunque en mi segunda intervención no se que pasó con el personal pero me sentí un poco tensa cuando entré a sala de operación, pero recordemos que somos seres humanos que cometemos errores. Gracias doy a mi Señor Jesucristo por haberme permitido conocer al Dr. Silk y su equipo de médicos para mi todos están bien calificados. Gracias
