I remember daisies being an extraordinarily great spot before covid. A bit disappointed when we found out it has gone downhill like many other restaurants. Like many others have said there is a 25% surcharge that goes into employee benefits, which makes it painfully ambiguous for us to decide how much more to tip. Food wise - ingredients are amazing but food is cooked way too salty. Maybe we just went there on a bad day but for a restaurant aspiring to be high end it is unforgivable. After all if I want to eat badly seasoned food I can just cook it myself at home.
I've now dined multiple times and can honestly say the food here is excellent. Fresh and locally sourced, with a unique touch on classic and down to earth dishes. Some of the favorite starters: Carrot Rillettes (fresh fresh fraîche), Onion Dip (simple and addicting), Burrata (anywhere can serve burrata, but this dish sets itself apart). For main courses, you cannot go wrong. Seriously. I've had everything and not a single disappointment, but some highlights include: Tagliatelle (yes, add black truffle if you can), Agnolotti (such an interesting and delicious mix with beets), and the fish (eat the skin, I know that may sound weird, but the way it's prepared makes the skin arguably the most flavorful part). Overall, highly recommend you try before this place starts to circulate and books up. Cheers!
Carrot Rillette bread fried in duck fat was really good. Latke flavor was too subtle for me. Tajarin Some flavor can't put my finger on. Not my fav Pierogi Plenty of filling. Subtle taste. Topping too crunchy. Lamb head a strange strong taste. Not my fav. Papardelle Acidic sauce Cookie has chocolate throughout the center. Salty on top. Warm. I like! Raspberry pie, ok. Raspberry topping is gelatinous. Not my fav. Service Didn't box leftovers for us. 25% automatic tip that's shared between front and back of house and goes to health insurance.
