Scheduled a couple appts with them. The first one they had to reschedule because they said they double booked that day. The second appt was at 4, they called me 5 min after 4 to tell me they werent going to be able to make it. Not good customer service.

We were referred to Kodrzycki & Son after talking with a general contractor about the terrible experience we had with a "Clinic" that did some fireplace and woodstove work for us last year. Steve set up an appointment and let me know the costs upfront for the service. There were a few issues I had been trying to get the "Clinic" to address about the work they had done, but they stopped responding to me. Steve came in and looked thingsd over and pointed out some of the dangers we were facing due to the shoddy work that had been done - open areas that could let the fire reach directly to the fireplace mantle from the inside, improper installation of the woodstove chimney and flue, places where fittings were not tightened or were totally missing screws to hold them in place.... Steve did a great job of identifying several issues that would prevent us from getting the kind of draw we needed to have efficient fires, and he laid everything out very plainly and thoroughly. The things that weren't working right that we had been told were our fault (wood must be too green, house is too air tight for airflow, etc) were easily remidied by proper chimney caps and actually attaching the cap on the wood stove to the chimney top! Cleaning the wood stove flue was a total cluster, as it had been installed in anrushed, haphazard manner and was almost totally clogged with ash and soot from the way that it was forced in. Totally unprofessional job, but we didn't know better at the time. We paid more than we were expecting for a simple cleaning due to all of the extra work that Steve and his son put in, but we have a safe and functional wood heating system now. It was well worth the money as we don't have to worry about the house burning down any more! We have been able to maintain 70 degrees upstairs with just the downstairs woodstove burning. We could barely get over 65 degrees with the woodstove and upstairs fireplace both going last year. Professional, friendly, and very knowledgable, we can recommend Kodrzycki & Son Masonry to everyone who has a wood burning feature in their home. They took the time to make things safe and reliable, and gained a new customer in the process. They cost more than going to a "clinic" for chimney work, but the difference in the quality and thoroughness of their work is well worth the minor price difference.

We had our Chimney Repaired and liner put in, the crew came in and had everything done in less than a day. They were professional and cleaned up afterwards. Our apologies our camara had stopped working as things do happen out of our control, we did exactly what you hired us to do. It was a visual inspection performed since our camera was out of commission & that was the fee charged. Our inspection was accurate we felt at that time, we hope you had your issues fixed. When a vehicle fails a inspection, we still pay regardless also unfortunately.

I had reached out to Steve after coming across his company name on google. He was nice to talk to and quoted me $220 for an inspection and cleaning. After coming to my house he had told us that his camera broke at his last job. He looked over our firebox and wood burning stove and gave us information stating the units were basically not functional. When he checked the downstairs stove, not only was he telling us how the unit we have isn't code, he used his cell phone to take pictures to show us the creosote buildup. I could have done the same thing but was seeking a professional to utilize the appropriate tools. This was something he charged us $185!! No work was performed and a formal inspection was not complete. I was rather shocked when he told me he was charging us that price for the lack of work completed and asked for the check on-site. I should have said something immediately but instead gave him the check. I called him the next business day after pondering this, willing to pay a service fee, however $185???? I was told a "visual" inspection was completed and he used his profession judgement to provide us with the information he did.
