I am a first time homebuyer and I was referred to AHL through social media. I submitted an application for a prequalification. The preapproval was denied. I understand things happen. The only thing I was upset about was nobody at Atlantic Home Loans bothered to follow up with me and offer guidance and advise on what I can do to increase my chances of approval in the future. I sent an email to Beth Luciano requesting a call because I had questions and I never got a call back. I felt like my business wasnt good enough because I got declined. Im happy to say I will be proceeding with another mortgage company that is willing to work with me, guide me on the path to homeownership.
I am a first time homeowner and I have heard many times how stressful the process can be. I was preapproved when I had first applied and everything had gotten started when I found a place. Unfortunately my loan officer had left the company in the middle of my mortgage process and they had switched me to someone else, who I had only spoken to once. By this time I was in somewhat of a time crunch and I did not feel like I was getting responses to any questions or emails I sent any time after like 1 pm during the week, until the following day. I do believe that this had something to do with my unfortunate luck of having my loan officer switched last minute. I felt like I was kind of being tossed around with not a lot of communication, and maybe a week or two later, my portal stated a different loan officers name, without any notice to me. I was just very confused and felt a little in the dark. I didnt feel like I could just trust that it was going to get done. During this time I had to quarantine due to covid so I had a solid 3 1/2 weeks at home to be available to upload any documents they needed ASAP, and my closing date was still delayed. Everything had gotten done, I closed on my condo, but it would be inaccurate to say it went smoothly. I would like to assume it would have to do with the unlucky circumstance I was faced with, paired with the pandemic, but I dont know from experience.
We have now used Atlantic Home Loans for two purchases and a refinance. They are very organized with a streamlined mortgage process. We owe Tony and Lisa a special thanks for the help they provided us. I highly recommend them to anyone who is purchasing or refinancing a home.
