Peter, I am sorry you are dissatisfied with our service. Upon the unit's bring back, we tested it and it ran great for us as it did the first time we sent it home. We called and said there was nothing wrong that we could find, its running great and if you were to pick it up, there would be no charge. You however explained you wanted us to further look into it because you believed there is something more wrong. So we did. We continued to inspect the unit throughout a series of weeks with no issues. We went into the engine to make sure the points and condenser were proper and again, no issues. We tilled so much grass with it here we ran out of grass. The technician took it home to test it in his own turf. We ran 3 tanks of gas through it trying to replicate the issue, which again, we did not find. If the unit is not running properly, please let us know since you denied testing it here with us like we had asked. We will be sending you a check for the $25 delivery fee that was done in error. When a unit is picked up, it is assumed the unit will be delivered, so you were charged for the delivery mistakenly. However, we spent hours on this unit and only charged you for an hour which unfortunately, we cannot refund.

Until today I would have said Egelhoff was one of the better places to purchase equipment and have service performed. I literally have spent thousands of dollars there on both. I brought a Troy-Bilt tiller in for repairs. I was impressed with the level of detail they claimed to have taken with it. I brought it home, tilled with it immediately and after 10 to 15 minutes it started sputtering and popping and would only operate at half throttle. Egelhoff said bring it in, well get right on it. I made a video of the way it was performing because I recently brought another tiller (one I had been using for over 20 years) in that I could not get started. It started for them; they could not find a problem. I figured that was on me and I paid them for their time on it. I offered to play the video of the tiller they repaired because I did not want them to think I was imagining it wasn't running properly. They said no, that's not necessary. Again with this tiller, they could not reproduce the problems I was having; it ran fine. When picking up the tiller they previously repaired, they charged me another $115 for time spent on a tiller that wasn't repaired properly to begin with. I offered to play the video again to show them it wasn't operating properly. Again they refused. Maybe its just me, but it seems reasonable that if they are asked to repair something, charge me for it and its still not working, they need to make it right. They disagreed and insisted I pay the $115 fee. They have new people there. I do not know who they are, but I do not care. They just lost all my future business. Everyone I know will be made aware of this. I hope it was worth the $115 Egelhoff. Post Script: I just noticed they charged me $25 for pick up and delivery. They did pick up this tiller, but while dropping of another tractor and tiller I mentioned earlier. Now even more upset.

Egelhoff had my Toro zero trun mower for service: new blades, oil and filter, pick up and deliver $278. Aparently they forgot to grease the front wheels. Easy to tell: the wheels were screming and there was no excess grease pushed out of the bearings. Obviousley an oversight, that can happen right? So Saturday morning I load it up on my trailer and bring it in again. The person behind the counter is not super friendly to begin with and when I explain that my mower needed grease the answer was that the computer says it was greased. I said that maybe it was an oversight I got a defensive "well, we don't know that for a fact". Instead of looking at it he walks out to his boss. Conversation with the boss: "The guy here claims the mower has not been greased" while shaking his head and showing him the print out from the computer that says it has been greased. Still no "Good morning, how are you?" Instead looks at the dry grease zerks, walks off to get a grease gun and 30 seconds later I am release with a "Ok, here you go, have a great day." A little "Hey, sorry for the oversight and you had to load it up and bring it back again after you have already paid us to do that.." would have gone a long way. Business must be good. Have a great day too, Egelhoff.
