Alexandria we take our reviews serious whether its a 1 star or 5 star and we appreciate them all. We try and celebrate with our team when we get a 5 star and we speak with the staff anytime we receive anything less than a 5 star to continuously work on making our location better for the community. After reviewing your review with our staff we are disappointed we were unable to relay the message of being 21 and up in a better manner. We posted it on the front door and windows to try and prevent anyone under 21 entering. We do understand sometimes those signs can be over looked. Our staff is instructed by ownership & NC law to be strict on the age of individuals entering our establishment. We definitely do not instruct our staffs to scream at anyone. After speaking with the staff they said you had entered as we had just gotten our first wave from the festival and all employees were busy crafting cocktails. The employee who first let you know you had to be 21+ to enter said you responded and said that a random gentleman outside said it was ok to enter. So the GM said he spoke up and let you know that you had to be 21+ to enter but we could help you at the door and bring your drink to you. He did say the music was loud and there was several patrons in the building at the time and he did speak up to make sure you heard him but he was in no way trying to scream at you. My friends and I went to visit this location as we were wanting a refreshing cocktail after being in the sun for sometime for the festival down the street. I walked in first with a stroller of my 5 month old niece and immediately the staff starts SCREAMING from behind the bar that no one under 21 is allowed in the bar. Im taken back by this and I respond with, its a baby. They start yelling back, again from behind the bar creating a scene that no one under 21 is allowed in the bar. Ok, if thats your rule then fine but dont start screaming at my friends and I to get out because we have a baby. There is a different way to handle the situation like, politely coming over to me stating the situation. Staff was rude and unprofessional. I wont be back. Baby or no baby.
