Fred, We totally hear your concerns, and thank you for your business. Governor Brown's mandate has put us in the uncomfortable position of telling us that we (7a) Must ensure that employees, contractors and volunteers comply with this rule within the indoor space. We must also: (7b) Make reasonable efforts to ensure customers, guests, visitors and other individuals comply with this rule within the indoor space. And further that need to: (7c) Post signs at every entrance to the indoor space that masks, face coverings or face shields are required as described in the rule. We at The Natty Dresser are following the Governors mandate by doing the following: 1.) We have posted signs at the doors that inform people of the mandate, and the steps that we are taking to make sure that people stay safe. 2.) We are logging employee temperatures on a daily basis, to make sure that all are healthy. 3.) We maintain a stock of disposable face coverings that are freely available to both our employees and the general public. 4.) We have informed our employees of the mandate, and the fact that the Governor wants them to wear face coverings. However; We are also reminded that the Constitution of the State of Oregon (Section 2,3) and the Constitution of the United States of America (Amendment 1) which allow our employees and any other person who enter the indoor space to exercise their inalienable rights to freedom of religion, and to follow their own conscience in regards to their health and actions. Some of our employees have chosen for themselves to wear face coverings, some have decided against. That is their right. We cannot legally require anyone to wear a mask that has a health, religious or conscientious objection, nor are we allowed to discriminate against such persons. It is impossible for us to please everyone. We further ask each of the people who enter or shop to use their own judgment about whether or not they should enter this or any other business. Thank you for understanding our position in this trying time. It is our desire to keep our employees and customers happy, healthy and free, while being of service to the people of Albany and the surrounding area.

This used to be my favorite men's clothes store. They have high quality and had good service and I'd have given them five stars before my last experience. They still have high quality but when I went in a couple weeks ago none of the staff were wearing masks. The owner came up to me and I asked him to put on a mask which he did but then he said that the governor was just making a suggestion regarding masks in public businesses which is untrue. It is a mandate enforced by Oregon OSHA. And even if you were resistant to the mandate, you'd think that seeing a customer in a mask would prompt them to put a mask on out of respect if nothing else. In the future I will find a different retailer who follows the state laws, who believes in science, doctors and epidemiologists and who believes in protecting their customers' health rather believing the unfounded claims of the uneducated influencers on the internet..
I ordered some made to measure shirts and they came in smaller than what I tried on in the store. When I brought them to get them in the correct size the owner insisted that this had only happened once before, assuming the factory must've messed up though it was clear the store had placed the order incorrectly, he then suggested I gained enough weight to make the shirts no longer fit. Finally, he said that I had just changed my mind about what I wanted and insinuated I was scamming him. He did end up replacing the shirts, but during the process of finding the correct size was extremely rude and unhelpful and I ended up with expensive shirts that still don't fit. Skimming the reviews of the store they seem to react poorly when forced to deal with their mistakes. The owner also posted a pack of lies in response to criticism about ignoring the mask mandate which speaks to his poor character and small mind. I recommend avoiding this store and it's rude and incompetent owner.
