I always enjoy this doctor, but I did not give 5 starts because I was hit with a surprise bill when I left. I knew I had a copay of $10, but had to pay $39 more out of pocket because of an eye picture they took? I was not told ahead of time I had to pay anything out of pocket, nor given the opportunity to opt out. Never signed anything agreeing to it. The woman told me it's to keep from having to dilate my eyes, however I have been going there for years and have never had to get my eyes dilated, nor pay anything out of pocket for a "picture". She told me insurance won't cover it...then why am I needing it for a routine eye exam? I would have opted out, and kept my $39.
The forced us to have an eye scan and charged the max my insurance would allow making the eye appointment cost 5X what it should have. I will never be back to this location again
Went to get my yearly exam and order new contacts. Told them I like my current contacts but was insisted upon using new contacts. Left to pay for my exam and was told it would be $133 dollars. I knew there would be the ocular mapping which would be extra ~$35 which I accepted. I thought w/ my copay it would be total ~$45 max. I pay for the best vision insurance though my work why should I be paying $133.They said it was because the contact fitting. Selection Contact Fitting is included in my plan. I told them I was fine with my current ones, that I wanted to get what my insurance covered before my exam. So instead I got charged $88 extra for something I didn't ask for. Then I go to purchase the contacts online like I always have and no one sells the Precision 1 for Astigmatism that will take my insurance so if I want my contact I probably have to get overcharged yet again. I'm going to request to be switch my prescription to my old contacts or something that is covered under my plan or I won't return for anything else and continue to let people know not to go here. If they decide to.. be ready to pay more for the same service you can get at another optometrist location.
