It seems like a popular spot. However its definitely showing its age; the decor struck me as the kind of place that was popular in the mid-90's. Fish tanks everywhere but some were a little murky. The martini was well made and the key lime pie was dynamite. The lobster bisque was one of the better that I've had specifically for the large chunks of lobster. Staff seemed a little stretched. I observed the bartenders arguing about who was going to restock something--that was a little awkward. The wait staff were nice but not overly welcoming. It was nice to experience a popular spot but neither the food nor the ambiance was particularly memorable. Maybe time for a decor and menu refresh?
5 stars earned. Consistent quality and freshness. Incredible seafood, steaks and more. Outstanding service upstairs in bar area Considerate and caring accommodation for a disabled guest. Don't waste your time anywhere else.
I really enjoyed the food. The waiter was also very professional and attentive. My wife and I definitely plan to come back. We got the lobster mac and cheese and chillean sea bass, both were excellent.
Such amazing seafood! As fresh as you can possibly get this far away from the ocean. I can sea why this place is a such a foundational restaurant in Des Moines. The service was phenomenal and I'm looking forward to coming again.
