Unfortunately, this is not the reality of the situation. Here are the facts: Todd Kane, with Kane Family Farms, owner of the wedding venue, inquired with our catering manager on 3/21 about catering a 4/30 wedding. Most wedding events are booked at least 9 months in advance, but we wanted to make the event work. We told Todd the catering process on 3/21, including payment terms which included an initial deposit and another payment of 70% of the cost by 4/10. On 4/4 Todd paid the initial deposit and was reminded of the additional payment due 4/10, as well as our desire to view the site and schedule a tasting. From late March through the end of April, we followed up more than 10 times by email and phone to try to confirm plans and remind him of the payment due 4/10. We did not hear from Todd until 4/11 when he said he would make the payment due, but he did not follow through. We didnt hear from him until 4/20, 10 days before the wedding, when he again promised to make the payment, but still did not. As of 4/26, we still had not received the payment due on 4/10, toured the venue, or hosted a tasting. On 4/26, Todd left a voicemail saying he secured a different caterer. In our last conversation with Todd, he blamed the non-payment, lack of communication, and last-minute catering request on the bride and groom. We value a collaborative partnership and gladly go the extra mile for our customers. In fairness, we expect reasonable follow-through from our customers/partners as well. Unfortunately, collaboration and fairness were not part of this experience. While this was very disappointing, we are grateful to have a delightful relationship with most all of our customers.
