Dear Mr. Prather-Young, Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion of our work at Skyridge. While we are disappointed that you do not share the same vision for the community that we do, we understand transitions in management don't always please every resident. We'd like to take a moment to respond to your comments one by one. First, yes, an older gentleman passed away in his apartment. This happens in apartments, and it's just a part of living in a community. Unfortunately, this individual had no family to check on him so we did have to handle the issue after the belated discovery. We invested over $6000 to clean his unit, and several thousand more in pest remediation, which is now complete. Lauryn, who is our community manager and a valued teammate of Venture Communities, worked very hard to assist - as you said. Unfortunately, this situation was unique and we handled it the best we could. We do apologize for the inconvenience. Regarding rental rates, we did increase the rents in the community, as you said. Upon taking over management of Skyridge, rents were significantly below market. The previous rental rates - which again, were well below the market - would not enable us to renovate and bring our apartments up to more modern standards, as well as the addition of wonderful new amenities to the community that should be standard in a community of this standing. We know that not every resident will take advantage of a pool or a brand new 24 hour gym, and not every resident will want to enjoy the free coffee we offer - but many, many residents will. We've seen significant resident satisfaction at our other communities where we added a gym, pool, and coffee bar, and we intend to make Skyridge a top community in the area. The vast majority of our residents at Skyridge have expressed joy that a new manager has come into the community with the intention of upgrading the amenities, but we do realize that those amenities are not important to everyone. Regarding unit by unit renovations, while your unit has not yet been renovated, many units are in the process of being completed. We'd love to invite you to move over to a newly renovated unit should you wish to stay at our community. If you'd like to see the quality of our renovations to give you a better idea of what the increased rental rates are doing for the community, head over to our website at www.skyridgeapartments.com. If you still intend to relocate, we totally understand and wish you the absolute best at your next apartment. Thank you for making Skyridge your home for the last 7 years. - VC Team

Venture Communities took over Skyridge Apartments in November of 2021 and in those 3 months, a tenant died in his unit. The building was infested with flies. Tenants had to pay out of pocket for traps and supplies to make their own units livable and Venture offered no help. (I do commend Lauryn for attempting to assist though). They also decided to raise our rent an avg of $200 to add amenities to the community that no one has asked for. We are getting a coffee bar and gym onsite, but we already have had a Starbucks & Chipotle on the property for years and at least 7 gyms in a 10 min radius. Instead of actually upgrading the units tenants are in, they are choosing to add these superfluous projects without even asking the existing tenants what they need or want. (I have lived in Skyridge Apartments since 2014 and have had ZERO changes made to my actual unit to warrant such an increase) The only positive comments I have are that maintenance responds quickly to most problems now and we have an online portal to pay rent. Don't see that being worth an extra $2,400+ a year

Dear Ms. Burdine, Thank you for leaving a review, and I am very sorry to read that you've had trouble getting ahold of us. Are you certain you're contacting us via the correct avenues? I don't see you listed in our system, and typically any prospective resident who reaches out is automaticaly added to our CRM. I am worried you may be calling or emailing a different company, as our leasing agents and managers are online all day, every day. A couple of our properties do allow Section 8 vouchers, and we'd be happy to chat with you about it. You can email us directly at
[email protected], or just go to our website at www.venturecommunities.com and call your preferred community. If our manager misses you, they will certainly call back. We have been extremely busy lately with tours, so we appreciate your patience in advance. - VC Team

I have been calling this company for weeks. Leaving voicemails and sending emails. No one ever answer or returns my calls. I havent received a return email. Im getting frustrated because I am a potential tenant. All I want is some information on your properties. I would like to know if you rent to section 8 voucher holders. If so what properties accept it? Hopefully this review will get me some answer.
