spent 30 minutes on the phone "registering my gift card" then attempted to use the card and it was declined. Its a gift card!!! Now waiting on the phone for over 30 minutes to try to use my money! no answer so far. So unprofessional. I think it is part of the game...make it hard for us to use the money and so they do not have to pay out.

Bad experience and their customer service did not care to fix the issues. Bad company.
I have been using Cardpool to buy discounted gift cards for a number of years. I have never had any problems with delivery, using the cards and or their customer service. I will continue to use them for my gift card needs in the future.
My experience with this company makes me realize how easy it is for a large company to scam people. My husband received a $100 gift/debit card, which was in a cardboard folder, sealed in plastic. We used it at a local restaurant. We put the gift card with additional cash to cover the remainder of the bill and 20% gratuity. The waiter came back to us with the gift card and told us there was only $83.13 value on the card. We paid the extra $17.00 and I told the waiter that he could toss the card, since there was no value left on the card. However, I did copy down the card number and the next day I decided to research this. I had the cardboard folder it came in. I went to visa.gowallet and then I called Meta Bank, which was listed on the folder. I was told that my card was issued by Blackhawk. I called Blackhawk and entered the number of the card, and the reply I received stated that I had a $16.67 credit balance on the card. Why had they deducted that amount the night before when we used the card at the restaurant? I finally spoke with a person, who told me that when the card is used at an eating establishment, Blackhawk automatically deducts the gratuity at 16.67%. BUT they do not pay this amount to the restaurant. If they deduct the amount and do not pay it, they have made an extra $16.67 on a $100 card. Good profit. Most people will not bother to keep the card or research it, to find out that there is a credit on it. Typically, when a person is told there is no value left on the card, the card is tossed. When this happens, Blackhawk makes a pretty profit, since they sold the card for $100. THIS IS A SCAM! THIS IS A RIPOFF. The company has to know they are doing this. This is not the reputable company that you purport it to be.
