I have been going to this office for about 7 years (back when it was Dr Codner). I never even considered going somewhere else until the last two months. It took a month of me calling them repeatedly (but no one ever answering the phone so I just keep leaving voicemails) for them to finally fill and order my contact prescription. I called again to see if they were ready, no answer of course. I got a voicemail two days later saying they came in 2 weeks ago and have been sitting there... The front desk lady they hired has an incredibly poor/rude attitude with patients. I heard her today say on the phone well maybe youd just be happier somewhere else. Terrible customer service. She didnt acknowledge me when I came in the door so someone else finally came up and talked to me. She said nothing when I handed her my card, nor did she say anything as she set my contacts on the counter and turned around (A thank you for spending your hard earned money at my place of employment is always nice to hear). As I sat in the office chair I went to my vision insurances website and found another eye provider where I will be going next year. Sadly, with her attitude and their lack of attention to detail I do not think I will be the only long time patient leaving.
Andy, I highly respect you and recognize your despair. Regarding this concern I would refer you to both the paperwork you signed prior to your appointment, and numerous conversations we had - both at the time of service and since. We are so willing to work with you or others on payment of difficult bills (surprise or not). Still, we are consistent with, and highly transparent in our billing practices. Our line of work carries with it tremendous liability if we stray from proper care or proper billing - even to appease occasional patient requests that, while understandable, are sometimes irrational or unlawful. We don't claim perfection, but we strive very specifically to avoid situations like yours. If you haven't already resolved this issue, please contact our office manager to discuss the most feasible resolution.

I went to my annual eye exam and was given contacts to try by the doctor and was supposed to have a follow-up just to see if I liked them or not or if they were comfortable. And at the follow-up I shared how I felt with them so the doctor decided to do some tests without me realizing that they were going to charge my insurance. If I would have known I would have said no because financially I wasn't going to be able to cover it. I would stay away from this place, they lack transparency and failed to inform me that my insurance would be billed and all in the name of a follow-up. Even if you are happy with their service I would be really careful. You might get a surprise bill.
Orem Eye Clinic was fantastic! AJ was quick, efficient, and informative with the initial screening and imaging process. Dr. King was so easy to be around and open to all my questions. I asked about some very specific concerns with my eyes and although he was unaware of a currently available treatment, he told me he had an idea he would research and get back to me about whether it would be a viable option for me. He could have easily just said theres nothing that can be done for that, but I really appreciated him taking the extra time to find out if he can help! All the staff was wonderfully friendly and I even got help picking out glasses frames that complemented my face. I highly recommend Orem Eye Clinic!
The office staff worked to fit me at the last minute because they didn't think it would be a good idea to wait since my eye problem had already lasted a few weeks. The doctor that helped me was Dr King and I was impressed with his knowledge and skills. As a former patient of Dr Codner's, I wasn't sure what to expect of new doctors when I first came in a year or two ago, but I received such good care. Today was the same. I highly recommend Orem Eye Clinic!
Betty, I feel bad you're willing to give a negative review without experiencing and recognizing our service. I train my staff to book appointments only when they can confirm we are providers for your insurance plan. That saves you money and time, and drastically improves your experience at our office. It isn't too much to ask, in our minds, that our patients determine their insurance plan before we will schedule them. Since we book out a month, we like to let you know that, so if you need more prompt service we can save you time. I'm sad you mistook my receptionist's helpfulness as anything different. Anyhow, we would love to show you how we treat our patients if you ever decide to give us a chance.

Called to set up an appointment for the first time. The administrative was very hesitant to take set up an appointment and making excuses about my insurance coverage. I told her I looked up their info through my insurance providers and she said that even with that, sometime the insurances are wrong. OK? Lastly, she said "also we are booked till a month from now so I'm not sure if you wanna wait that long". Way to get new customers!!! I guess Orem Eye Clinic won't be getting my business.
