I have been climbing with Aspen Expeditions for some time by now. Mainly have done single day summits rock climbing in Cascades, also Ice Climbing in Colorado, multi-day technical routes in Mt Baker and Rainier. I have climbed with other guiding companies in the past too. What sets Aspen Expeditions apart is the dedication to client's safety as the number 1 goal! It may sometimes look like you've been overprotected, but by the end of a day I've always realized how important this aspect actually is. When I come to climb with AE I know that I will be safe. Safety apart the attention to clients technical readiness and preparedness is also one of the key concepts - I have learned so much technical details just in a few days of any climbs that I would not be able to obtain climbing with friends, going to social climbing clubs, etc. AE also always catered to the wishes and was able to change the venues as the weather or other obstacle presented. This way I know that I always have an alternative option to climb something else. Climbing big rocks in Cascades was especially rewarding as I finally got into larger than just a pitch or two, top rope, gym. 11 pitches on a Goat Mountain was a unique prize, including rappelling all the way back - this was unforgettable!

Recently came back from an amazing climb of Mt Triumph in the North Cascades with Britt Ruegger, my third climb in three years with him in the area. Ive done over 20 professionally guided climbing trips on four continents with several different guide services, and no one is better than Britt in terms of guiding skills, encyclopedic knowledge of the mountain environment, attention to safety, and sense of adventure. Combine that with the beauty, variety, challenge, and relative accessibility of the North Cascades, and you will have the trip of a lifetime whether you are starting your climbing career or (like me) have been climbing in the area for almost 20 years. Mt Triumph is a remarkable combination of terrains (glacier; technical rock; bit of bushwacking) in a stunning and remote setting, and I cant imagine a better person to explore it with than Britt.
