Was looking for an inflatable rib tender for my Sea Rayspoke with Kevin Schultz from nautical ventures in Fort Lauderdale. Kevin was amazingly helpful with finding the right tender for my boat. He was extremely patient and reviewed the measurements until we found the right solution. Kevin was always available to receive calls , texts or emails . He was even able to customize the inflatable rib with center console and accessories. As I am based overseas, Kevin was able to navigate the logistical hurdles for a smooth transfer and delivery. I decided to buy a Hobie Passport 10.5 based on the Hobie brand and my research. With only 3 dealers in South Florida, I was fortunate to have @NauticalVentures located within 2 miles of my house in Fort Lauderdale. During my 2nd visit to the store, I purchased the kayak, which was to be delivered over the weekend. I mentioned to the sales representative that I didnt want the one on displayed since it had a number of 1 inch gouges in the aft section of the kayak. The manager, John Farris, went on to explain to me that this is Hobies lower end model, which is mass produced a certain way and that defects were to be expected. I said this doesnt look like manufacturing defects, but shipping / handling defects. Additionally, I have other kayaks and paddle boards at similar price points and never received them already damaged. The following day I get a call that my kayak was delivered from the warehouse and ready to be delivered. I said I would stop by to inspect it before delivery. I got there and the kayak was still in heavy plastic packaging, so we decided it was better to not to remove the packaging before delivery. The kayak was delivered later in the day. After removing the plastic, I noticed approximately three 1/4 inch cuts in the plastic mold. They looked like they were made with a knife. I decided not to accept delivery. I got a call later in the day about the kayak. John at @NauticaVentures again went on to explain about the quality defects, etc. I said I understand it is Hobies lower end model, but at ~$1700, I would still expect it to arrive without manufacturing defects or shipping damage, regardless how small. He agreed to refund my money. I received an email the following day from the Sales Associate that John would process my refund on Monday. I followed up with the Sales Associate 3 days later when I didnt hear from John. He said in his email that he thought John had processed it, but would follow up. I sent another note 2 days later and he still didnt know if it had been processed. After another 2 days of waiting, I was informed that the refund hadnt been processed and the Sales Associate asked that I complete a credit card charge form or return to the store. At this point I had lost all confidence that @NauticalVentures and John would act responsibility and ethically and decided to pursue the refund through my credit card company. The only positive comment on this debacle of an experience is the Sales Associate was extremely responsive and professional to each of my requests. With that said, Hobe should reconsider @NauticalVentures as their distributor in Fort Lauderdale. I had to go to @CaptHarrys in Miami to purchase a Hobe kayak and get truly outstanding service.
Sorry Jeff. Mistakes happen. We have a listing agent in training who was given the wrong price from a third party. We do our best to proof all listings before they get published, but with over 900 active listings it's impossible to bat 1,000. Carelessness? Perhaps. Bait & Switch? Never.

Got a boattrader alert for a 2022 starcraft boat for $26,047 called right away and they could not find the boat. Image that that boat they advertised for 26K was actually 60K. Bait and switch - be very careful with these people. Read the fine print 2 times!!
