I had my car towed to 80 miles from Jackson, TN to BC in Memphis by AAA to be repaired. Upon arrival and inspection the maintenance person informed me my alternator was bad and needed replacing. The cost was a little over $1800 and I had a vacuum leak that would cost an additional $1000. I checked around and found a company the was an expert on Jaguars locally an only charged a little over $700 parts and labor. I immediately contact BC and advised them not to repair my car and would have it picked up shortly. AAA graciously agreed to tow my car 80 miles back to Jackson,TN for free. After the local company (Christian Brothers Automotive) inspected my car, they advise me to allow them to charge the battery to get a more accurate reading of the alternator before they change it. I agreed. To my surprise they informed me that my battery was bad and the alternator did not need changing. I called Auto Zone and they informed me that my battery was purchased within the last 3 years and they would replace it for free and drop it off at Christian Brothers Automotive for me. After installing the new replacement battery Christain Brothers Automotive rechecked all of my electrical components of my car and found everything working properly. I now have my car and I only paid $274 which included an oil change. If I would have authorized BC to replace my alternator I would have had to replace my batter costing me over $2000. I am requesting and demanding reimbursement of misdiagnosed fee of $197 immediately.
