Can't say enough good and positive things about my experience. The property is amazing, Dina and Rob took amazing care of us. Very Profesional. After the survival 101 training, I am confident this was the best money I ever spent. I definitely gained valuable survival skills and competent at what I learned. This course could potentially save my life, especially with all the hands on experiences and equipment choices provided during the training. This was life changing for me because I walked away more open-minded toward safer minimalist approach adventure and endeavors outdoors. Thanks!

Temi!! Thank you for choosing to spend your weekend at Mountain Shepherd! It was a pleasure getting to know you and, now, an honor to call you my friend! I so look forward to next time! Best, Dina
Wonderful experience at the mountain Shepherd adventure School. I just took a survival 101 course this weekend. Dina, the owner is a gem. She was communicative before the class in the day of. I stayed at the main lodge in the rooms with bunk beds. At first I wasn't sure what to expect but everything was exceptionally clean and welcoming. The beds were comfortable enough, with hand-stitched comforters, and warm sheets. The course was very informative for every level of experience. Dina was incredibly dynamic and kept us engaged the entire course. The property is just about 100 acres and there is a pond, a tire swing, table bacci, a large dining room with fast Wi-Fi, and lit paths. Everything you need for a comfortable weekend to disconnect with just enough connectivity to let those at home know you're all right. The property is incredibly dog-friendly. One of the groups staying at the property choose to stay there instead of at a hotel in Blacksburg when it when visiting Virginia Tech. Breakfast was included with the course and I was really delighted to find out that the eggs came from a nearby farm. What a delightful stay, I look forward to returning.
