Dr. Bassiri is absolutely wonderful! Great and very knowledgeable eye doctor. I've been with him for years and have moved locations in order to stay with him. However, I cannot say the same about his staff. They are less than friendly and do not return your calls. At my last exam I had a very bad reaction to the dilation drops, it took days and ME calling THEM multiple times to get them to even call me back and then was given attitude for needing to be seen immediately because of this bad reaction. Savannah was the worst, acting as if I was an inconvenience to her. Needless to say, I hate to give up a great doctor. But I will not be returning unless Savannah and other staff members are no longer there.
I came in about a month ago for eyecare as I had stated to the doctor as well as the front staff I hadnt been to an eye doctor in years so I was looking forward to it but was dissatisfied with them not understanding how to use my insurance, customer service wasnt all that great, expressed a concern I had with one of my eyes the doctor acted like it was no big deal, felt rushed & not really informed as to what was actually going on with my eyes also was told I was going to be talked to about glasses at the front when I checked out, that never happened I stood and waited about 5 to 10 minutes while the girl was on the phone didnt say a word to me. Then when I was finally spoken to it seemed as if I was inconveniencing her and just didnt want to deal with me in general and all in all just really felt they did not care for my business. I asked for my information so I could go and get my prescription elsewhere and had a much better service dealing with the Walmart vision center then I did with their eye care. Not to mention they didnt even ask why I wasnt going through them anymore. They simply could care less.
Update 4-28-22: I moved 2 hours away and I still drive to Raleigh for eye care with Dr. Bassiri. I initially began going because of dry eyes and the need for yearly exams. I was having bad grittiness, itching, and burning that sleep did not help. It was really interfering with life. I tried eye drops and they did not work. I was 55-56 yrs old at that time and had never worn contacts. I tried soft disposable lens but my eyes were still experiencing grittiness, itching, and burning. Dr. Bassiri recommended scleral lenses. These are larger than a contact lense and were custom fitted to my eyeballs. I researched them. They are different from a regular contact lense not only in size, but they allow for a small air pocket between the eyeball and lense. This allows the eye to get oxygen. I really researched this. It also allows for your own tear film to remain on your eyeballs. It was a bit of a learning curve to insert them but I got better at it (as all new things take practice). These lenses cost more than standard lenses but I had to have them. They also improved my vision by magnifying what I see. My distance vision is much clearer. I do wear readers for reading. Lastly, these have an aesthetic appeal: they make your irises (the colored part of the eye) look bigger and brighter. I'm sure Hollywood uses these for actors (think the Twilight series). I am so glad, so thankful for my scleral lenses. I wear them all day everyday. Dr. Bassiri always takes the time to listen to my needs. His staff is always courteous and helpful. I'm very grateful for care at Fusion:)
The transition on my glasses started peeling off. Called them to see what I can do they told me to come in just to tell me that my glasses warranty expired. they couldn't have told me that over the phone. And I've only had the glasses for a little over a year.. However when I get my glasses from America's best I would have them for a good 3 years and nothing would happen with the transition. This is what happens when your new to a area
