Food was great but boy did our sever Tarea have an attitude. I can't even say the service was bad since she kept our drinks full just seemed to be an inconvenience to her.
Service - 10/10, our waitress had a sense of humor, was attentive, kind, and more than competent. Ambience - average, enjoyable but not stellar. Food: Chicken = above average fried chicken, like a 7.3/10. It was good fried chicken, don't get me wrong. But, world famous? The best? No, that's not it. I would go again with friends to get some good fried chicken. The crispy skin on the chicken was the best part, obviously. But there was nothing extraordinary about the chicken. Sides = beans and potato salad were average. Appetizer = Fried Green Tomatoes were pretty good with the sauce! Desert = pecan pie was pretty good, 8/10! Overall - would recommend to people who want a well rounded fried chicken meal. I would go again if I'm in town and was craving some fried chicken and pecan pie.
I was eating lunch in a restaurant when I looked out the window and saw Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken. Finished my okay meal and walked across the street to grab something for dinner. Totally impressed, everything was great and very tasty! Chicken fried perfectly, slammin mac-n-cheese, green were awesome, sweet potato pie was the bomb! Enjoyed everything and if I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I will make Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken a definite stop - I just may go again before I leave town!
