I understand that the majority of reviews are five star- the camp is indeed right on the beach and Donna is friendly and responsive to issues. However, here are the drawbacks: mainly : Locals drive their dirtbikes, quads and trucks (fast and loud) on the beach during the day and late at night. Eye contact with these guys reveals stained feelings toward non-local visitors. Sure, tourists are annoying. Secondly, the written emails said all linens provided for our bungalow, but actually we had to ask for a top sheet and blanket and Donna was acquiescent but argumentative on this point. Meaning we got the sheet/blanket, but no agreement about the poor communication. Thirdly, if youre coming from the camping/hostel side of things youll be stoked and youll be used to grungy minimalist style. If youre coming from the hotel/Airbnb side- itll be an adjustment.. ie: power was out all three days so no hot water or Wi-Fi and no way to keep sand out of the bed, little things like that. Ok thats all- mahalo, I almost never write reviews but here I am.

I camped here by myself for 4 nights. Lots of couples and solo travelers. The campsites near the beach were perfect! Anahola is a great location for visiting Kauai. Nothing is too far. It can get pretty windy coming off of the ocean. The manager keeps the place clean and looks out for any mischief/unwanted locals. The bathrooms are nice and there is a pavilion to charge your phone. Its a safe and awesome experience.

Kumu camp was a dream within a dream. Such an easy system with checking in and checking out. Donna was sweet, nice and helpful. The direct access to one of the coolest and most prehistoric looking beaches Ive ever been too. I felt like I was in Jurassic park. Every morning I was greeted by families of chickens. It was great! I would only recommend Kumu camp if youre camping on Kauai. I cant wait to visit it again

Donna took us in last minute, and the camp is just lovely. Located directly at Anahola Beach, hot showers and free coffee/tea in the morning. 1000% recommendation!
